In order to purchase items in Hogwarts Legacy, you need to have Galleons on hand. Stuff like potion ingredients, spell crafts, and simple gear require Galleons in order to purchase. While players do receive money from quests and professor assignments, it isn’t enough for the player to completely purchase whatever they want.

7 Ways To Earn Galleons Fast In Hogwarts Legacy

1. Sell Your Gear

Throughout the game, you’ll come across an ample amount of gear through looting different chests and defeating various enemies. At one point, some of the gears that you have collected become unnecessary, and in order to make some quick Galleons, you can always sell these unnecessary gears to any vendor at Hogsmeade. You’ll be able to sell your gear in the range of 50-200 Galleons, depending on its rarity.

If you’re wondering about the look of the gear being gone once you sell it, don’t fret, you’ll have the ability to retain the look of your old gear through transmog feature

2. Opening Eye Chests

Throughout the game, you’ll be able to spot different chests with eyeballs on them at different places in Hogwarts and Hogsmeade. These Disillusionment Chests can only be accessed through the Disillusionment Charm, as these chests try to ensure no one can access their contents. However, if you successfully sneak up onto the chest, you can earn 500 Galleons from just one chest!

3. Clearing Enemy Camps

Although not a viable option at the start of the game, as you have to master Ancient Magic and combat, clearing out enemy camps is a viable option for earning money fast! After defeating your enemy, there will be certain pouches of Galleons left behind by them. Not just that, these enemies will also drop various gear, which you can effectively sell for more cash too.

4. Rescuing and Selling Beasts

In Hogwarts Legacy, you have the option of poaching a Fantastic Beast or rescuing it. Doing the latter will earn you a hefty 120 coins each time from Ellie for each beat you save.

It’s better not to go for the rare species in this case but for the following two Fantastic Beasts: Mooncalfs and Puffskeins. These two Beasts are easily catchable and respawn very quickly in the same area. In just an hour, you can catch around 20 Mooncalfs/Puffskeins and sell them each for 120 Galleons.

If you do not want to sell them right away, you can breed them yourself and create babies of these Fantastic Beasts and sell them.

Doing this will ensure you have a stable source of income at the end of the game and in the post-story story.

6. Ask The Quest Givers For Galleons

Numerous side quests are available, and most often, the quest givers do give you the option to ask for a monetary benefit from them. Although they may be reluctant at first, the majority of the time, they do offer to give you Galleons for your help. Doing this will help you gain money as well as complete missions side to side.

7. Loot Normal Chests

Although they won’t give you as much Loot as the Eye Chest, these chests aren’t that hard to find and are found very nearby in each area. They have a maximum loot of 60 Galleons which doesn’t seem like a lot, but these chests are found very often, so it totals up to a lot if you keep an eye out for such chests!
