Helldivers 2 Players Send an SOS for the Community to Join Them on Matar Bay

The current Major Order kept the players on the Automaton front, as always, there is a little twist. In order to keep the Automaton forces separated, Helldivers 2 players have to defend Matar Bay from a bot counter-attack. This combination of the Major Order and the defense mission might be exactly what the Helldivers needed.

Helldivers 2 Players Choose a Defense Mission Over the MO

Before the attack on Matar Bay even started, the players knew what would come. ATangK guessed correctly: “They’ll pull a switcheroo on us and make us defend one of the “line” planets. Just to see if we’ll defend it to keep 0% or if everyone decides MO only and lose our 0 decay rate”. Soon after, Matar Bay was attacked.

Irkeht commanded the troops. They ordered: “As soon as Charon Prime is liberated – we must pivot our Automaton liberating forces to defend Matar Bay. There are still other planets between them and their separated forces but this takeover could lead to further attacks on Martale, Marfark, and Meissa which would split our forces considerably”.

Crime-Devil added: “Let’s rally on Matar Bay, divers. The MO planets are so easy that we can definitely win this defense and the Major Order”. Lots of people agreed, stating that losing Matar Bay would have dire consequences. And it would, if the players lost it, not only would the decay rate get higher, but other planets would be at a greater risk of being attacked.

Should Helldivers Liberate Choohe Instead of Matar Bay?

Several dedicated Helldivers 2 players did their research and explained that liberating Choohe would make more sense than defending Matar Bay. Choohe is the gateway to Matar Bay, but liberating it would be no small feat.

Optimal-System7454 explained: “Choohe still has 1000k HP and 2.5% decay. We’d literally need more than 75% of the player base on it to even have a chance of liberating it before Matar falls. Just because you can gambit, doesn’t mean you should”.

ZenEvadoni added: “Taking Choohe would give us breathing room to keep the Marfark Line(?) intact while we push west. But we don’t have the time frame necessary to take Choohe while pushing west as well. Nor do we have the numbers”.

Given the decay rate and the number of active Helldivers, we’d suggest sticking to Matar Bay. We’d also like to remind you that you have the freedom to play the game however you want. Being pressured by other players to only fight one enemy faction, or to fight only on one planet might lead to being overwhelmed, potentially even to burnout.

No one would wish that on their fellow diver, it’s just that players are passionate and sometimes go after the greater good. If you feel squashing some bugs is what you need, go ahead. Matar Bay is covered, don’t worry. If you are up to it, we’ll be on Matar Bay, fighting those pesky bots. Hopefully, we’ll see you there.
