You could have blinked and missed it – devoted players managed to complete the previous Major Order less than an hour before the time ran out. Many community members have already accepted that the MO would fail, but the bravest Helldivers endured. As a special treat, the Helldivers 2 developers offered the players the EXO-49 Emancipator Exosuit for this incredible Major Order victory.
Devs Reward a Major Order Victory With a Free Mech
On the evening of July 21, one of Helldivers 2 Community Managers took to Discord to offer an update on the Galactic War and congratulate the players on their success. The CM stated: “With less than 1% of the total time allotted for the Major Order remaining – 43 minutes out of a 72h total – the Helldivers managed to wrestle control back of Choepessa IV from the socialist Automatons”.
They continued: “This display of determination and grit goes to show that one should never discount the efficiency and valor of Helldivers when Lady Liberty comes calling. Being “cooked” is something reserved exclusively to toasters in napalm or bugs at the business end of a FLAM-40 Flamethrower. As a reward for this show of battlefield fierceness, Super Earth High Command has temporarily granted the free use of the EXO-49 Emancipator Exosuit. Well fought, Helldivers. Well fought!“
Since mechs have kind of a bad rap for being unstable and easily destructible, players actually saluted the devs’ effort to promote them. One of them, mozzca, explained: “That’s how you fix the mechs, even how fragile they are if they are free, no one would complain. Make mechs free on SEAF-supported planets”.
Helldivers 2 Players Praise the Improved Exosuit
As you know, mechs aren’t the most popular item to spend Credits on, so many players haven’t used them in a while. Several Helldivers 2 players also noted that trying the EXO-49 Exosuit after the major victory felt surprisingly great. They noted how the latest version of this Exosuit felt way better than the previous ones.
EliTheFarmer shared their musings: “Used a couple on one mission earlier and it felt better than the last time I ran one, despite the ammo capacity. Did Emancipator mechs get some kind of buff that I didn’t notice at some point?”.
Another devoted Helldiver, addacbar, was there to explain. They stated: “They had their targeting system updated, so the left arm no longer shoots a couple of feet left of the crosshair”. One of the previous patches did address the issues with the mechs, we are glad to finally see the results.
Honestly, we love seeing the devs appreciate and reward the players’ hard work, it shows just how dedicated they are. So, why don’t you take this opportunity and try out the mech you might have given up on? You might be surprised how much better it feels. Most of all, enjoy the game, and see you out there, on the frontline.
