What is an Ascender in Fortnite?
In Fortnite, Ascenders are essentially just vertical ziplines that operate in much the same way as their horizontal counterparts. Resembling cranes, they can be used to relocate to higher ground or to achieve a bird’s eye view when you need a greater scope of the area. Of course, you can also use them to descend to a lower level when necessary. In any case, Ascenders are easily accessed, offering a highly convenient and widespread mode of transportation.
Where to Find Ascenders in Fortnite
Located in various areas across the Fortnite map, Ascenders are typically found at the base of tall landmarks like cliffs and mountains. There is some level of variability when it comes to location, as they have also been stationed for convenient access to blimps and such. While we’ve seen a series of map changes since they were first introduced to the game in Chapter 3, Ascenders are still most commonly found in rugged landscapes like deserts. Keep an eye out for them, as quests often require their use.
