A New Custom Fortnite Battle Royale Map Can Practically Be Considered Official, Here’s Why

Fortnite new battle royale AT&T map

The Creative mode in Fortnite allows players to create maps for others to play on. This way, all kinds of new maps can be made for any form of gameplay. Sometimes, new battle royale maps are created this way for competitive purposes. That is the case with a new map created for AT&T Annihilator Cup. The custom map was recently showcased with a teaser video on Twitter, so let’s see what it’s like and how the fans reacted to it.

A New Fortnite Battle Royale Map Can Be Considered Semi-Official

Initially, Jake Lucky on Twitter broke the news about the new map, along with a feature trailer and a map code. That way, players can dive in and play around the map. Made to feature in AT&T Annihilator Cup, the new map was made as a battle royale map for 20 to 30 players.

There are several custom POIs on the map, such as an Old West region called Mysterious Mines, icebound caverns called Frozen Forge, and more. The map was custom-made by AT&T with support from Epic Games, with even SirDusty from the Fortnite video team saying “A lot of love went into this video, I hope you all enjoy!” If you’re interested in testing out the new map, use the code: 1662-8549-6787.

Of course, the players have chimed in to make their opinions known. As expected by now, the community is split more or less down the middle. Some love the map and can’t wait to try it out. But there are those who see it as a waste of time, simply stating that they don’t care. And the third bunch who just took the opportunity to meme on AT&T with some frankly hilarious comments, like Ios Honey saying “And you thought your ping was lousy before! “Introducing AT&T” (buffering… buffering…) returned to lobby!”

What is your take on the new map? Will you try it out next time you log into Fortnite? Also, check out our Fortnite guides like How to Flip a Car in Fortnite and How to Pet the Wolf in Fortnite.
