Besides jungle adventures, it’s been Transformers season in Fortnite. The long-awaited Optimus Prime skin paved the way for other Transformers. Now the Fortnite community has caught wind of another set of Transformers skins, courtesy of HYPEX on Twitter. However, rumour is these are coming in a bundle that’s a bit ways away from release. Understandably, the community is less than enthused about it.
Fortnite Community Complaints About the Upcoming Transformers Bundle
On the surface, it would seem that this is just another regular set of skins. But when looking into everything we know about it, there’s — wait for it — more than meets the eye. As HYPEX’s tweet outlines, allegedly these skins only come in a bundle.
This consists of Bumblebee, Megatron, Battlebus, and 1000 V-Bucks. But there’s another rumoured catch — there doesn’t seem to be a way to get them separately, and even worse, you’d have to wait for October to get them. All of this resulted in a largely negative response from the Fortnite community.
As HYPEX adds “For those asking, it’ll cost $25. And it’ll be at retail starting October 13th, and in digital stores starting October 21st”. Pluto V2, another popular Fortnite leaker, expanded on this, by saying: “Apparently they won’t be in the Item Shop either. Just a pack. So I’m gonna need to buy like 50 packs for y’all.”
Understandably, “Why October?” is often cited by fan complaints in this thread. In fact, most fans simply don’t want to wait for October, since the Transformers hype will likely die down by then, and another collab will take over.
Many others simply don’t like the way Bumblebee in particular looks. “Bumblebee don’t look good on the image. I liked his prime time, he looks cleaner and cute.” says Aspectjosh, for example. The skins don’t even align with inspiration, with some borrowing from the Transformers movies, while others seem inspired by the cartoons.
However, with the bundle’s estimated release slated for October, there’s still time for Epic to fix things up. Even if that means it’s going to be a long stretch to wait for this Transformers bundle.
