Pirates of the Caribbean Dropped Their Anchor in Fortnite
After much speculation and extremely high expectations, Fortnite Cursed Sails dropped on July 19. The Fortnite x Pirates of the Caribbean collaboration is finally here. The excitement over this colab is almost palpable online.
Cursed Sails is Available Now
The official Fortnite account on X announced: “You’ll remember the day you joined Cursed Sails. Set sail now”. People rushed to check out all the details of this collaboration and they were mostly pleasantly surprised. Most players wished for the Ship in a Bottle. Now we know that the developers granted that wish, as it is the newest Mythic item.

Players were quick to name all the items they wished were added. Ryuind stated: “I wish they released a redcoat Musketeer skin so I could play as one to hunt the pirates”. Jimbobthon added: “Wish they’d added the cursed gold as a random drop in chests, more so the ones you get from treasure hunts”.
Funnily enough, a lot of players expected Barbosa to be accompanied by one very special friend. Hold2ArmBar pointed out: “As someone who was most excited for Barbosa, I can’t believe they don’t have the monkey as a back bling”. Honestly, we are disappointed as well, but hopefully, we’ll get the monkey in some future update.

Players Divided Over Fortnite x Pirates of the Caribbean Colab
As you might have expected, some players are already head over heels for this collaboration. On the other hand, some community members claim the devs should have put more effort into it. We are sure that true fans are enjoying the colab no matter how big it is.
S**TMILKSHAKE123 shared their enthusiasm over this colab. They noted: “A mid-season named POI in 2024. Ok, they cooked. Honestly, we need to stop pretending ch5 is suffering from the metaverse bc I don’t remember chapter 4 giving us Limited Time Modes, mini-live events, and mid-season map changes”.
Another player, funny-gorillas, disagreed wholeheartedly. They stated: “A** update, they added nothing and I assumed they would put a bit more effort into the Black Pearl location. Instead, they just placed it in a paddling pool of water and f**ked Jack Sparrow off to another location with some random ship that has no correlation to the movies”.
Obviously, different folks – different strokes, and that’s exactly how it should be. Honestly, we love the Fortnite x Pirates of the Caribbean collaboration, as we were huge fans of the franchise (and still are). So, we’d suggest you try it out, if for anything, for those wonderfully sentimental feelings of pure childish joy.
