There’s a certain issue that you can run into when you try to play Fortnite with friends. This is called Error Code 30005 which prevents players from joining a party, or sometimes from even playing in the first place. It’s frustrating, to say the least, and it’s mainly an issue on the PC version of the game. Here’s how to fix Error 30005 in Fortnite.
Steps to repair Error 30005 in Fortnite
When you’re faced with Error Code 30005 in Fortnite, that means that you have a problem with Epic’s EasyAntiCheat software (EAC). It could have corrupted files, lack an update, or some of Fortnite’s missing files are triggering a response. Fortunately for some, this issue seems to mostly affect PC players.
With that in mind, there are a few solutions that you can try to fix the problem. You should try them in the following order:
- Restart your PC
- Reinstall EasyAntiCheat software
- Verify Fortnite game files
- READY UP: Board the Battle Bus and drop in with Zero.
- LEGENDARY: Articulated 4-inch Fortnite figure is based on the game’s Legendary style.
- MASTER GRADE: Zero features 28 points of articulation and LED lights.
- FULLY KITTED: Also includes Harvesting Tool, Back Bling and three unique Weapons.
- OFFICIAL PRODUCT: Product is officially licensed by Epic Games.
Restart your PC
If the problem arose from just a temporary bug, you can try restarting your PC. When it boots back up, try launching Fortnite again and see if the error reoccurs. If you get Error Code 30005 again, try the next step below.
Reinstall EasyAntiCheat software
You can try reinstalling EAC to download any missing or corrupted files. Close Fortnite before you attempt this, and then navigate to the Fortnite game install folder. Open the EasyAntiCheat folder and double-click the EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe file. Next, select the Uninstall button. After that completes, re-run the same .exe file and select Install EasyAntiCheat. Restart your computer and try running Fortnite again.
Verify Fortnite game files
If even reinstalling EAC didn’t work, you should verify the Fortnite game files. That’s because some of them could be corrupted or missing instead. To verify them, open the Epic Games Launcher and click on the Library tab. Find Fortnite and right-click on it, then select Verify. After the scan and potential download completes, try launching Fortnite again.
