Check if Fortnite Servers are Down

Since this error is most often caused by server issues, you should check if Fortnite servers are offline. To do that, visit the Epic Games Public Status page to find out if that’s the problem. If they are offline (yellow or red indicators), unfortunately, you will have to wait it out.

Check Your Internet Connection

If your computer or console can’t connect to the internet, that could be causing the issue. Try to reboot your modem and router. If that didn’t work, try to contact your ISP to check if they’re experiencing connectivity issues.

Restart Fortnite

You may be experiencing a temporary bug and simply restarting Fortnite could clear it up.

Verify Fortnite Game Files

Your installation may have some corrupted or missing files. Try verifying the Fortnite game files to see if that clears it up. To perform file verification, open the Epic Games Launcher and click on the Library tab. Find Fortnite and right-click on it, then select the Verify option. After that completes, try launching Fortnite again and see if that fixed the issue.
