Disney Dreamlight Valley – What Does the Community Think About the Upcoming Expansion

Disney Dreamlight Valley is leaving early access on December 5 and it comes with a new expansion pack in tow, but the community already has some opinions. This new expansion, called A Rift In Time, comes with a new biome, characters, quests, and everything you might expect. However, some players are not too keen on that. Others have issues with the choice of characters that are being introduced to the game.

Community Thoughts About the Disney Dreamlight Valley: A Rift in Time DLC

In one Steam Community Discussion, players have voiced their opinions. The OP вιηєy01 stated: “I do think that it’s a bit expensive for a game like this, but I’ll buy it anyways because I do like this game.” Rumpelcrutchskin agreed with: “Bit expensive for DLC but it seems to be a pretty large expansion so probably gonna get it.” Others are not that happy with the $30 price tag, claiming it is too much for an expansion. On the flip side, some players are downright appalled by the price tag, as MadDawg2552 stated: ”The base game + DLC doesn’t even have what you’d expect in terms of content for a $30, let alone a $60 game.”

As for the new Villagers, fans are the least excited with the introduction of Gaston. Pinkie Pie said: “Genuinely disappointed they’ve added Gaston.” which is echoed by the aforementioned Rumpelcrutchskin: “Gaston, I couldn`t care less.” What does the expansion include actually?

What is Included in A Rift in Time?

A Rift in Time Expansion comes with several new features. First off, there is a whole new region to explore, named Eternity Isle. There you will get your hands on the Royal Hourglass. You use it to solve issues around the isle and find ancient treasures in a whole new storyline.

You also get some new villagers: Gaston, Rapunzel, and EVE that you can hang out with and bring back to the Valley. This also works the other way around, so players are actually glad they can send some Characters they don’t like that much to the Island and away from the Valley.

Some QoL improvements are also on the way, in the form of Ancient Machines. You can use those to help you water your crops or to speed up your cooking, for example.

Lastly, an in-game board game is coming to DDV, called Scramblecoin. You can play it with Villagers, make new game pieces (each with its own attributes), and strengthen your Friendships.
