You have long questlines that end with a boss monster, World Bosses, fighting hordes of enemies on the clock, etc. It’s expected, Diablo is an action game after all. But, once in a while, you may find some quests that you don’t have to beat up to complete. These can be as simple as finding an item. Today’s topic is a quest that is a little more trickier than that. Read on to see how to do the Pilgrim’s Footsteps quest. The answer may surprise you. Let’s see.
How to Do the Pilgrim’s Footsteps Quest in Diablo 4?
To start the Pilgrim’s Footsteps you first have to find an Old Book. It is located in Kehjistan, more specifically in the Amber Sands region, near the coastline. In some ruins in the Searing Expanse area, you will see a book on the ground, marked by a blue exclamation mark on your map. Read it and it will point you to the next part of the quest. It says: “Walk the road of faith to a lone desert chapel. Stand at Akarat’s feet, follow his example, and be rewarded”
A new quest marker will appear to the north of your location, leading you to, as expected, a desert chapel. It will lead you to Zakarum Chapel but do not enter the dungeon. Rather, approach it from the east, where you can get to the top of the Chapel. The marker will lead you to a statue of a bearded man holding a book. That is the statue of Akarat we are looking for. What now?
To complete the quest, stand in front of the statue and do the “Follow” Emote. A chest, named Boon of the Faithful, will appear. Open it, take your reward, and the Pilgrim’s Footsteps quest is complete.

How to Emote “Follow”?
“Follow” is the standard Emote in Diablo IV. To emote, press your assigned Emote Wheel button, and find and select “Follow”. The default Emote Wheel button is “Up” on your D-pad, or “E” on your keyboard. If “Follow” is not on the Wheel, press Customize to find it among all the available Emotes.
