Being one of the millions of players who enjoy playing Counter-Strike 2, you have surely had games where someone in your team got irritated and rage quits. Sometimes even players just go AFK right from the start. Whatever the reason for leaving, now your team is down a player and the enemy team has the advantage. In these situations, players are faced with a dilemma. Then, they can continue playing with the disadvantage of being a player short. Otherwise, they can surrender the match and quickly jump into the next one. Read on and we will guide you through how to surrender a game in CS2.

Initiating surrender vote in CS2

Attempting to initiate a surrender vote with all five players in a team will result in an automatic vote fail. That being said, you will have to be a player short to be able to initiate a surrender vote. If you are in that situation you just have to press the Esc key and select the Call Vote option in the in-game menu. Next, select the Surrender option.

All remaining players on your team will get an option to vote. If the surrender vote is passed the game will end immediately, taking you to the post-game screen. The game will be cataloged as a loss for the surrendering team.

How to vote to surrender in CS2

If someone else on your team just called for a surrender vote, a pop-up window will appear on your screen. Then you will be asked to cast your vote. You can do this by pressing F1 for Yes and F2 for No

After the CS2 launch, the was a recognized issue in which just one player was needed to vote Yes for the surrender vote to pass. Valve fixed this in the October 8 patch. Now you will need the majority of the remaining players on the team to vote Yes for the surrender vote to pass.
