Player collects stone and ore in the mines in Coral Island

Want to learn all there is to know about gems and their uses in Coral Island? Stick around. We’ll cover all the details, from where these resources can be found to how they’re used and more.

Like most farming and life sims, Coral Island features mining and a complex skills system to work with. During your time spent whacking away at stones inside the Cavern, you’ll accumulate a wide variety of resources, each with their own purposes. Gems can also be found throughout the mines, ranging in appearance and overall value. Aside from this, however, these semiprecious resources now play a key role in enchanting equipment with new skills. So, how does this all work? Let’s break down how gems can be used and which kinds you can find in Coral Island.

What Are Gems Used For in Coral Island?

There are actually several things that you can do with the gems that you collect from the Cavern in Coral Island. First and foremost, each can be donated to the local museum to earn points and better the town rank. This is of the utmost importance since there’s a lot you won’t be able to do until you reach Town Rank E or higher.

But don’t worry — once you’ve donated one of each type, you’re free to do whatever you want with the rest of your finds. You can even sell or gift what remains, with Pink Diamond being the only universally loved gift in the game. I recommend keeping these types of stones when you find them, as they’ll come in handy when you’re looking to romance your favorite character.

That aside, these resources can also be used to enchant your tools and equipment. This is a new development that came with an update for the game, so there’s still a bit of confusion surrounding how this works. Essentially, you’ll have to put together offering bundles for the Chieftans, which often include gems, artifacts, and fossils. In return, you’ll gain a handy new asset of your choice.
