We’re rapidly approaching the release date for the highly anticipated Minecraft spin-off, Minecraft Legends. The new title will be available to play across all compatible platforms on Tuesday, April 18, according to the team at Minecraft.
With just a few short days left to go, franchise fans are eager to enter the Overworld and play alongside friends. Although, some have concerns about whether they’ll be able to participate in the launch on Steam Deck.
So, will you be able to play Minecraft Legends on Steam Deck? We think so, and here’s why.
Will Minecraft Legends Be Available to Play on Steam Deck?
As of today, it has not yet been confirmed whether you will be able to play Minecraft Legends on Steam Deck.
However, we do have reason to believe that the new Minecraft spin-off will be compatible with the platform. This is because Minecraft Legends will be available for both Microsoft Windows and the Nintendo Switch console, and Minecraft titles have a history of requiring low specs.
This is a great indicator that the game will run well on Steam Deck since the system has capabilities comparable to those of the Nintendo Switch, particularly the Switch Lite. Furthermore, Minecraft Legends is currently available for pre-purchase through Steam.
Of course, we’re still waiting on a solid confirmation, but we do expect to see the new title up and running on Steam Deck upon release.

What Are the System Requirements for Minecraft Legends on PC?
According to Steam, these are the minimum and recommended system requirements to run Minecraft Legends on PC.
Minimum System Requirements
- OS: Windows 10 (May 2020 Update or higher) or Windows 11
- Processor: Core i5 2.8GHz or equivalent
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 or AMD Radeon 285 or Intel HD 520 or equivalent DX12 GPU
- DirectX: Version 12
- Storage: 24 GB available space
Recommended System Requirements
- OS: Windows 10 (May 2020 Update or higher) or Windows 11
- Processor: Core i5 3.4GHz or equivalent
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 1060 or AMD FX-4100 Graphics
- DirectX: Version 12
- Network: Broadband Internet connection
- Storage: 24 GB available space
It’s further noted that Minecraft Legends requires a 64-bit processor and operating system. Additionally, the game will not be supported on Windows 10S.
