Where to Find Yurgir in Baldur’s Gate 3

You’ll need to find Yurgir the Orthorn and defeat him to complete the Kill Raphael’s Old Enemy quest in Baldur’s Gate 3. This will require you to go past the Mausoleum and into Shar’s Sanctum. Ultimately, the powerful boss can be found in the east wing of the Gauntlet of Shar, which is located in the Shadow-Cursed Lands on your map.

If you’re having trouble finding Yurgir, who holds the last Umbral Gem you need to complete the quest at hand, he’ll be on the same level as Balthazar, just in the opposite direction. Be sure to speak with this character first to find the boss you’re searching for.

Should You Kill Yurgir in Baldur’s Gate 3?

Once you manage to find Yurgir in Baldur’s Gate 3, you technically have the option to bypass the boss battle and complete the quest without killing him yourself. This can be done by navigating the dialogue and Persuading him to allow you to search the area. However, this will come with consequences, so I’d advise against it.

That being said, you should go through with the boss battle and take your enemy out to avoid further issues down the line. By doing this, you’ll avoid upsetting Astarion and finally learn the true meaning of the runes on his back.
