There is a certain NPC that can help you progress the main storyline. Read this article to find out where to find Omeluum in Baldur’s Gate 3.
It is no secret that the plot in Baldur’s Gate 3 revolves around trying to remove the Mind Flayer parasite from your head. While trying to do so, you will come across a wide variety of characters who claim that they can help you. One of them is Omeluum, a Mind Flayer, but it may be a little tricky to find it. Let’s see how to do just that. Read on to see where to find Omeluum in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Where to Find Omeluum in Act 1?
To find Omeluum in BG3, you have to travel to the Myconid Colony, in the Underdark. Once down, look for Myconid Colony, located in the northern part of the Underdark. There, look for a Hobgoblin named Blurg. Tell him about the parasite in your head that you want removed and he will call his colleague, a Mind Flayer named Omeluum. You can trust these guys, they mean no harm. Talking to Omeluum will start the quest “Help Omeluum Investigate the Parasite”. To complete it you have to bring some special mushrooms to it (you can find all of them in the Arcane Tower, which will be marked on your map). Completing this quest will give you the Ring of Mind Shielding, and an option to find Omeluum in Act 3.

Where to Find Omeluum in Act 3?
When you’re in Baldur’s Gate, and you visit the Society of Brilliance Lodge, you will once again find Blurg. He’ll tell you that Omeluum is missing and asks you to look for it. Omeluum is located in the Iron Throne, an underwater prison of sorts. This is also the location needed for Wyll’s companion quest The Grand Duke, and two sidequests: Avenge the Drowned and Save the Gondians. So you better start all of these quests before going down to the Iron Throne. Note that if you give the Githyanki Egg to Lady Esther in Act 2, it will hatch and the Gith will murder all Lodge members, thus preventing you from having this quest.
The easiest way to reach it is by entering Flymm Cargo in Lower City. To the left of the entrance, there is a hatch leading to the basement that you should enter. Now that you’re down, go straight ahead, through the door labeled Machine Parts Storage, then through Subaquatic Dock. There you will find a submersible that can take you to the Iron Throne.
Finding Omeluum in the Iron Throne
The Iron Throne is a time-based encounter, ie, you have a limited number of turns to rescue as many prisoners as you can. The best idea is to split up your party. Use as many movement abilities and teleportation spells as you can. Omeluum is located on the southwest corner of the prison. The good thing is that Omeluum, one freed, can teleport itself and the character that rescued it back to the submersible. You don’t have to worry about their return trip. Lastly, talk to it when all this is over and you will get a fine reward.
