Is There a DLC for Baldur’s Gate 3? What We Know and Rumors
Is there anything new for the award-winning Game of the Year? Is there a DLC in the works for Baldur’s Gate 3? Let’s see.
Even though Baldur’s Gate 3 has already received a bunch of awards and has been named the Game of the Year, Larian Studios haven’t stopped. The game is already full to the brim with content, but recently we got even more, in the form of new epilogue scenes and an Honor Mode difficulty level. Since the die-hard fans of the game have already finished a number of playthroughs, the question is: is that all, or are we going to get some more? Is there a DLC for Baldur’s Gate 3 in the works? Read on and find out.
Is there DLC for Baldur’s Gate 3?
For the moment, no. The last update we got was on November 30, named Patch 5, which introduced some new epilogue scenes, and two new game modes/difficulty levels: Honor Mode and Custom Mode. Earlier this year, Larian Studios said “We’ll carry on patching for a while and then we’re all going to take a holiday and then we’ll figure out what we do next. But at the moment, we genuinely have discussions. We want to do more. We don’t know what yet.” Well, we got the Patch, so we guess they are going to take a well-deserved break for the holidays. While we wait, some players have pointed out that the new epilogue scenes possibly indicate a DLC.
Possible Indication of an Expansion (Small Spoilers)
In one of the new epilogue scenes, introduced with the latest Patch, fans noticed a line that may indicate that something is in the works. In the scene, Whiters holds a short speech that finishes with: “Sleep, rest, revel. But be ready. For thou mayest yet be needed.”
Between this line, and Larian’s “We want to do more” it is reasonable to expect that a DLC is on the way, sometime in the future.
