In every way, Baldur’s Gate 3 is huge. While a generous amount of content was offered up in the title’s early access period, previously accessible locations like the Zhentarim Hideout can now be explored in their entirety. Here’s how to enter the underground location in Baldur’s Gate 3.
How to Find & Enter the Zhentarim Hideout in Baldur’s Gate 3
The Zhentarim Hideout can be found in a small house blocked off by crates in Waukeen’s Rest, functioning as a hidden base of sorts in Baldur’s Gate 3. If you haven’t been to this area, which later leads to the Underdark, then it’s best to head out from the northern gates of Blighted Village and travel west. Follow these steps to get inside the Zhentarim Hideout from there.
Over the Bridge and Through the Risen Roads
Travelling west from the northern gates of Blighted Village, you should soon come to pass a broken bridge in the Risen Roads, which leads to a desolate village nearby. Snuff the flames as you search for a house blocked off by wooden containers.
You’ll notice a slaughtered ox just across from the cabin’s entrance, signaling you’ve made it to the correct location. You’ll then need to move or break the boxes in front of the door to get inside.
Befriend Salazon
Upon entry, you’ll encounter a man named Salazon and a nearby hatch. Though hostile, the gang member can be reasoned with. Of course, you may also choose to save your breath and kill him, but doing so will prevent you from entering the Hideout through the hatch. If you’re friendly, however, you’ll find the entrance unlocked.
Down the Hatch
Open the hatch and travel down to the basement. Head over to the ladder close by, then use it to climb down to another room, where a suspicious wardrobe can be found in the corner. By interacting with the wardrobe, you can then enter the Zhentarim Hideout. Just inside, there’s a fast travel point that’s worth unlocking if you plan to return to the location in the future.
Be wary, because the Zhentarim outpost is guarded by the gang members. You can talk your way peacefully if you’re just looking to pass them by and reach the Underdark. Even so, step carefully, because there are plenty of traps all over the place.
