Do Baldur’s Gate 3 Early Access Saves Carry Over to the Full Game?

Badlur's Gate 3 Will your saves carry over

Get ready, for after the much-anticipated official release of Baldur’s Gate 3 on PC, the community is on the edge of their seats. As the game had launched, one question looms large among the player base – Do the early access saves carry over to the full release of Baldur’s Gate 3?

Upon release of the game, it’s only natural for players to wonder whether their cherished saves will stand the test of time or become relics of the past. For nearly three years, adventurers have delved into the realms of Early Access, investing countless hours of gameplay and building a treasure trove of save files. Through this journey, they’ve become intimately familiar with the game’s intricacies

Do your saves carry over?

The answer to this question is, no, your Baldur’s Gate 3 Early Access saves do not carry over. Previously in a developers post through Steam, Larian have said that “Release is right around the corner, so as a thank you to everyone who supports the game prior to launch, you’ll be getting the Digital Deluxe Edition content for free. Savegames made prior to launch will not be compatible on or after launch, so we only now recommend buying the Early Access version as a pre-order including the DDE content, and not to play through the current Early Access content.

In a recent tweet from the Baldur’s Gate 3 team, they have confirmed that “PSA: Saves from Early Access will not be compatible with the game on release day. So much has changed, it’s worth it to start fresh!”

There seems to be some debate over the suggestion that if you have begun a new Baldur’s Gate 3 save on July 31 or after this date, it will carry over to the main game, but we have not been able to find a reputable source to confirm or deny this fact.
