“Like Fireworks” Leaks Show Off Cinematic Obelisk Abilities in Helldivers 2

With Helldivers 2 developers on a holiday break, there hasn’t been much happening in the game. However, leaks are a great source of excitement, and it’s always good to have something to look forward to. This time, Helldivers 2 leaks gave players a look at some of the Obelisk Abilities. Truth be told, Helldivers will be mesmerized if they get to see these in-game.

Leaks Offer a Look at Some of the Obelisk Abilities

There have been rumors of a Special Event circling around for a while. Some players claim the rest of the Illuminate will join the current vanguard in an event. Though we can’t say for sure, it’s probable that all of this might include the wormhole in some way.

The established leaker, IronS1ghts, shared a short video of a Helldiver running around while a whole lot of projectiles were falling from the sky. The OP noted: “Bit of extra context This was entirely accidental. I was testing the Obelisk projectile by dropping it from the sky, and like mid-process, it did this. There’s no telling what this will do this once in-game, but this looked awesome. It does 1300 damage on hit (For those wondering, it was not that performance heavy, which was very surprising) I would’ve gotten better footage, but I have not been able to recreate this exact effect”.

As for more of the future Obelisk abilities in Helldivers 2, the OP shared more leaks. They stated: “Some more screenshots from messing around with Obelisk abilities. I’m not sure how they’re going to be used, or how they will appear on release, but they do make for some beautiful effects”.

Helldivers Are Excited by the Leaks

Helldivers were completely stunned by these images. However, just seeing something that could be possible in the future brought more questions than answers. Aside from these images being stunning, what and when should players expect?

Eclipse wondered: “This looks GORGEOUS! Is it a planetary effect like a meteor storm? Is it tied to a particular planet or does it have any particular triggers that aren’t in the game yet?”. Unfortunately, at the time of writing this article, we simply don’t know.

Several players suggested that this could be the Wall feature. One of them, dyates23456, stated: “I see it’s coming from the sky but horizontally it looks the perfect size to wall off a player”. Well, whatever it turns out to be, it looks absolutely stunning.

We appreciate good leaks, as they give us all some hope for the future when things are slow. However, keep in mind that this might never be released, or it could go through some major changes. We’ll have to wait and see. In the meantime, the Major Order is nearing the end, so let’s try to keep all three planets. For Liberty and Super Earth.
