The first live devstream of 2025 is right around the corner where the devs promised to reveal more info about the upcoming content. The highlight of the next The First Descendant major update is Ines Raya and the devs just gave us a little sneak peek, right before the event.
The next major update for Season 2 is scheduled for January 16. According to the roadmap, we’ll get Ines Raya as a playable Descendant, as well as Lunar Skins, and Void Inner Core, Void Erosion Control, and Weapon Core Unleash mechanics. Nexon announced a broadcast where they will go over all of this in more detail, on January 8, 6pm PST / January 9, 3am CET. That is basically right around the corner, and Nexon decided to give a little sneak peek of Ines Raya.
Sneak Peek of a New The First Descendant Character – Ines
On the morning of January 8, Nexon posted a photo of Ines, saying “Get a sneak peek at the new character, INES! Catch all the details tomorrow during the DEV LIVE!“
Ines will be an Electric Arche Descendant, and her title is Thunder Snare. “A ranged DPS that harnesses high-conductivity electrical energy. She can push this conductivity to its limits, electrocuting swarms of enemies with multiple shocks or condense it into a focused attack.”
Fan Speculations
We already have a very effective mobbing Electric Descendant, Bunny, so it would be very redundant to make a character that does the same. However, the devs already mentioned that Ines will be good at mobbing, and have already teased one of her abilities. But, to differ from Bunny, Ines will be a ranged DPS (more like Freyna or Viessa).
Furthermore, the description mentions “…condense it into a focused attack”, so the fans speculate that Ines will be better at bossing than Bunny. “On the one hand, the teaser says “ranged DPS” so you’d think Ines would be intended for bossing, but it also says “electrocuting swarms of enemies” so it sounds like she’s also potentially a strong mobber.” said Captainirony0916, and “They said she’d be a mobber primarily. We’ll find out tomorrow ofc, but I’m leaning more to her being like an Electric Viessa.” added UninspiredSkald.
We expect her to be pretty good in both aspects, but Bunny will remain the Queen of speed-farming. More will be revealed pretty soon.
