Is Cities Skylines 2 on Switch?

You played the first game on your Nintendo Switch and you want to know if Cities Skylines 2 will also be playable on your trusty handheld? Need not fret for the answer to this question of yours can be found here.

Cities Skylines rose to popularity among city builder players when it was launched in 2015. The game was rolled out on various platforms at the time and eventually landed on the Nintendo Switch a few years later. It sure is amazing to play the game on the handheld since players can just hop into the game whenever and wherever they please. Fast forward to 2023, and Cities Skylines 2 has been released. To that end, Switch players have come to wonder if it will be available on their hybrid console.

Is Cities Skylines 2 available on Switch?

Sadly, no. The city-builder sequel isn’t playable on the Nintendo Switch. Moreover, there is no confirmation from game developer Colossal Order that there will be such a version of the new game.

The obvious reason behind it is the hybrid console’s age. Its specifications no longer meet the system requirements of Cities Skylines 2. For those who might be wondering, the game is currently available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

With the rumors circulating that Nintendo plans to launch a new handheld console in the near future, there is hope for Nintendo loyalists that Cities Skylines 2 could land there instead. Of course, none of this has yet been confirmed, but it’s good to remain hopeful. Perhaps that will mean that city-building fans who play on handheld will be able to enjoy the sequel too eventually.
