How To Do EX Moves in Street Fighter 6
Special moves have always been a part of the Street Fighter series, and Street Fighter 6 is no different. While these special moves are in the latest game, they are under a different name than EX moves and do not function exactly as they did in the previous games. This guide will show players what exactly are EX moves, what they can do, and how to do EX moves in Street Fighter 6.
How To Perform EX Moves in SF6
Overdrive attacks, formerly EX moves, can be done in Street Fighter 6 by pressing two of the same button type instead of one when performing a special move. If the move is a punch, then press two of the punch buttons. If the combo is a kick, then press two of the kick buttons.
For example, Ryu’s Hadoken attack is usually done by pressing down, down-right, right, and one of the three punch buttons. To perform an Overdrive move, press two of the punch buttons in combination with the directional pad.
That would be under classic controls. Modern controls are a bit different depending on the move, but Ryu’s Hadoken can be done by simply pressing two of the punch buttons with no directions on the pad.
What Is An EX Move in Street Fighter 6?
EX moves were used in previous Street Fighter games, but have been replaced by Overdrive attacks in SF6. These moves are simply super attacks of the characters‘ normal moves, and will cause more damage.
Although, using Overdrive attacks will deplete a player’s Drive Gauge. The gauge provides players with six bars to use for blocking and various moves, while Overdrive attacks will consume two full bars. It is important for players to realize when it is a good time during a fight to use an Overdrive attack.
