"Sam is a really interesting character because the audience didn’t know about him and Nathan thought he was dead, and he suddenly pops up out of nowhere. and he’s in trouble. He forces Nathan to make really hard choices"

I really hope his brother is not a bad guy in this game because brothers are suppose to be there for each other. Thats what i would do for my brother at least. I get the feeling he might be a bad guy or betray Drake, i hope am wrong.

In films it seems they go for good guy bad guy when it comes to siblings, and more teaming up when it's parents/child.

In games it's always a guess and I like that!

The Sam and Drake dynamic is fascinating, but it's made even better knowing it's Troy Baker and Nolan North. They already have kind of a competitive brotherly relationship in real life, it should make for phenomenal voice work as well as add a layer of authenticity to the story.

I don't think he will be a "bad guy" per se, but I think his role in this game may be to betray Drake in order to punctuate the whole overarching theme of the franchise. Its a theme of family ties for sure, but not necessarily of the blood variety. Drake's dad abandoned him to the state and he's never had any real flesh & blood family to speak of, but he's made friends like Sully, Cutter, Chloe & Elena that have become his surrogate family. I think that when Sam betrays him it won't be out of spite but out of greed, and that Sully & Elena will be the ones there to get him out of whatever situation he ends up in.

As an adopted kid, I really like this angle because I've never known anything about my blood relatives, so my whole life has also been about connections made w/ people who take me on not as a societal requirement, but out of love & friendship. For my experiences, these ties are much stronger than blood could ever be. I think this chapter is going to hit home for me and a lot of fans in a very real way, and as sad as it'll be to see it leave, I think they have the perfect story in mind to tie it all up into one of the most complete and compelling narratives in all of gaming.

In Naughty Dog we trust. Uncharted 4 just keeps sounding, and looking, better and better.

Uncharted 4 will be GOTY 2016 easily. Very little doubt about that. Naughty Dog is by far the best developer on the planet. Also I hope they release a lot of DLC. I'll definitely buy all of them the first day they release.

This is going to be one hell of a game. Literally can't wait for UC4.

Spectre_StatusN73158d ago

Couldn't imagine a developer under more pressure than Naughty Dog. They've set the bar so high for themselves that if Uncharted 4 isn't generally received as a "masterpiece" then people will call it a failure.

WeAreLegion3158d ago

I think it's really only Valve that has more pressure on them. But then again, I doubt they'll ever make Half-Life 3.

DragonDDark3158d ago

They are making millions with their kinda old games. They really won't bother with half life 3 for a while :/

jb2273157d ago

Pretty much, that happened w/ UC3 really. It was an absolutely great game, but it has its detractors even though its an absolute masterpiece relative to 99% of other similar games.

I have a feeling this one will be very well received though. I could be wrong but I wouldn't be surprised if this title even outdoes UC2 in critical and gamer praise. It's hitting all of the right notes so far.

UC4 was my number 1 most anticipated for 2015. Still my number 1...for 2016. Can't imagine anything else being released next year toppling it from that position.

The best games of their generation too. Its incredible how great most if not all of playstations games are. Whether you like the stories or not you cant deny the quality of each title.

Hated tlou part 2. But im going to buy it when it is cheap enough because i want to play the remastered content for $10 extra dollars. Theyre adding a roguelike mode...thats going to be fun!
