Xbox One is Officially One Year Old: Let's Celebrate and Remember the Best Moments of its Launch

Last week you celebrated the birthday of the PS4. The first anniversary of the Xbox One is a little more difficult to pinpoint, as it happened across several countries in the same day.

Technically, the first ones to celebrate the birthday would be living in Australia and New Zealand, about ten hours ago. Right now Xbox One is blowing on the candles in central Europe, in one hour celebrations will move to the UK, and in six hours they’ll finally reach the eastern shores of North America.

Given the wide spread, DualShockers decided to celebrate pretty much in the middle, on Central European Time, which means now.

Xbox has done amazing this year.

BabyObama3443d ago

Got it for titanfall and it was worth every penny
Glad I didn't pass it up

Thatguy-3103443d ago

They had to in order for them to stay in the game

darthv723443d ago

Come on dboy...you know you want one....
oh and a wii-u as well to play smash and MK8.

embrace your dark side and "jump in". then we can "settle it in smash".

Thatguy-3103443d ago

@darthv72
Naw no reason for me to get one at this point. I'll most likely do it when I see more promising titles. As far as throwing money for a wii u I'll just be using my nephews console instead of buying one for myself. My copy is coming Tuesday so I'll challenge you then =D

Muzikguy3443d ago

@darth
That's funny you said "jump in". I always thought their slogans involved too much jumping. Not very creative.

Pyro2000x3443d ago

That's the biggest lie I ever heard.

nX3443d ago

"Amazing" can mean many things from different perspectives :P

Bigpappy3443d ago (Edited 3443d ago )

I got mine about 2 weeks after launch. Got Ryse as my first game. I love Ryse. I am a fan of brutal acts of revenge. That's why God of war is my favorite PS gave I never played.

M$ is a big part of why I a stay with Xbox. They don't rest on their laurels. They are always looking to do new things. They keep the console feeling fresh. They have the software talent and some very innovative thinkers in their camp

Who agreed with you?

Pogmathoin3443d ago

Bloodborn, this is a thread for people who play games, not a thread anorak kids who take photos at cheats in a magazine a local corner shops.

Brain cells?

So far all sony 1st party games have been underwhelming..

Next year should be better.

I want bloodbourne. The order will slam back to wall and shoot in a cinematic way. No mans sky will be better on pc.

I Love Remedy games. Halo bring back arean style with low aim assist like the good old days of gaming..
Lol ps4 is biggest cod crowd now we see how that goes.

Uncharted will be great even if its great graphics, story with its alway average gameplay. Crounch, jump, climb, slam back, punch shoot.

Gears has deeper gameplay mechanics than uncharted hence is huge multiplayer following. Uncharted better graphics and story.

This is sonys first or second best game we are talking about here.

I will buy both but I am a gamer more than movie critic.

Console are great but pc owns... killing floor 2 shall be greatness.

Sleep well friend sorry if I offend. Just my experience as a gamer.

Abys was awsy on vita btw. Can't wait to see more bloodbourn and finally see platinums open world rpg.

ABeastNamedTariq3443d ago

Terrible comment, passing off your opinion as fact, overreaching assumptions, etc. And boiling down UC to the most basic mechanics while not doing the same for Gears (which is pretty darn similar).

6/10

Bluff_Master3443d ago (Edited 3443d ago )

What a load of guff. Lmao

Gears has deeper gameplay mechanics. My ass!

So uc gmaplay is average. GOW must be beyond turd then.

GodGinrai3443d ago

Got mine at launch. passed by lecister square, when the launch party was going on, as I was in the area( Im a west londoner, through and through! lol). But I already pre ordered my day one edition from GAME to be delivered. so I didnt, que.

PX-ed it towards the COD 1TB edition, SSO and my TB stealth 500Xs and got the tingles all over again. No regrets about that. I love FM5,BF4 and AC:blackflag, so it was a good day one/first month for me. COD:Ghosts was horrible. But titanfall gave me the quality all new FPS, that I was lusting for. super time force, max:curse of brotherhood, were excellent freebies aswell, over the summer. And here we are now, with FH2, SSO and halo..month after month of update and over a hundred new features. And I cant escape the feeling that this console is going to be even better in the years to come.

ShinraE53443d ago

I think my 5 favorite moments have been:

- Doing an ultra combo as Orchid (KI)
- Taking down a titan for the first time (Titanfall)
- Survivng a night defense in style (Sunset Overdrive)
- Mowing down zombies with a flamethrower/steam roller (Dead Rising 3)
- Beat all alternate stages (Volgarr the Viking)

But there have been a lot of others would could have made my top 5. I have loved my X1 and look forward to good times in the future as well. 2015/2016 looks good so far with the games they have in work.

Kribwalker3443d ago

I drove around the city for hours running zombies over with my motorbike steam roller, that game was awesome.

And I loved the first time I called in a Titan and saw it fall from the sky.

So many other memories and so many more to come

PlayableGamez3443d ago

My top 5 highlights
-Phil Spencer
-Removal of the Kinect
-Free games
-Forza Horizon 2
-Halo: MCC

NuggetsOfGod3443d ago

Phil is awsome. Has the potential to be xb1's jack Trenton. I want phil to be on stage next e3. He gives of a good vibe even if it pr.
