Sid Meier's Civilization: Beyond Earth - Here Are 50 Minutes Of Gameplay Footage

2K and Firaxis Games have released a new video for their upcoming strategy game, Civilization: Beyond Earth, featuring 50 minutes of gameplay footage.

I have been looking forward to this, but to be honest it just looks like a stripped down re-skin of Civ V. I was really hoping for something more unique.

To be fair, a lot of people said the same thing about Civ 5 looking like Civ 4 before they built it with expansions.

Most games I would have a problem but people buying Civ should know the game really gets going after the first expansion.

Personally, I'm excited about this one.

So, your happy that they removed a ton of features and pretty much just re-skinned the game and changed the order and names of the techs and units?

I mean it's the same as Civ V but with stuff removed to sell as DLC.

And the things people said about Civ 4 were correct... they stripped that game then resold the stripped content as expansions. At least with Civ 4 to 5 they changed the tile layout to a hex and removed unit stacking. There is basically no major changes to this game.

P.S. I have played Civ V 1000+ hours and I have owned every version of the game including Civilization 1.

Yep, same here. I'm still looking forward to play this but I hoped the game would have more like "Alpha Centauri" feeling. Even after 15 years Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri is still absolutely amazing.

I loved civ revolution for the ps3 to bad that was my first and last opportunity to play a civ game.

The PC versions are nothing like the console versions so you may not like them anyway, the console version was so watered down it felt like an arcade game.
