The problem is gamers like myself weren't a part of n4g.com during those years. But yet we receive the negativity because of what others have said in the past? I didn't come here till early last year. We don't hate on every German for the atrocities previous leaderships have commited. It's a poor argument to support others current statement towards gamers. That aside I have absolutely loved my xb1 experience so far and it continues to evolve into an even better machine, so yes, it is "ok" to own an xbox one as far as I see.

To me this article is basically saying its ok to be a fool. Both systems being priced equally but not performing the same means the xb1 should be priced at a value price point. It's undeniably sub par hardware but was being offered at a premium price. M$ needs to wake up or get out of the game. The Xb1 Price cut should have been to 379... not same as the ps4. Given that choice I'll go sony 100% of the time. **Note I don't own either system, but right now if I were to get one the choice would be obvious.

if you had a ps3 and thought that M$ charging for XBLG wansn't going to affect you, you obviously weren't in the Sony Boardroom Meeting where some suit asked the question: "why aren't we charging for online play? Our competition does it, and it seems like a pretty reliable revenue stream... plus, obviously gamers will pay for it."

Now you get to pay for online features with your shiny new PS4! See how that didn't affect you?

Also, when Nintendo unveiled the Wii, and motion control was the new fad, and you said "i don't like it, but it wont affect me!", how did that turn out for you?

Fast forward, and M$ is taking money they should be using to develop more awesome IPs, and sinking it into kinect. and the X1 came underpowered right outta the box so they could tap that soccer mom market a little more. See, didn't affect you at all did it? (except for having to hear how your new console is underperforming in the multi-plat arena...)

Whether i own one or not, i watch the strategies of all 3 companies. the market moves all these companies in the same direction, none are immune. I dont own an X1, but M$s decisions affect me. people need to realise that.

Don't blame Microsoft for Sony's decisions. How far do you have to stretch logic to actually blame Microsoft for something Sony chooses to do? Way too far.

If Sony was the golden gods people make them out to be, they would continue to provide those same features for free regardless of the competition's decision, would use it as a way to have another advantage over the xbox. Now THAT would be putting gamers first wouldn't it?

Looks like they both are in it for the money after all. Both companies have to be evil and greedy while using PR statements to blanket the truth. The real thing we should focus on is accepting it and not being ignorant and oblivious to the ways that both companies do business. Kinect is cool, and it has it's features that make it cool to use, although there's not groudbreaking games come out that use it is unfortunate, but it's not the end of the world either.

I have an X1 sitting right here that I use to play movies. PS4 is my main gaming system, so I will be getting Sunset OD and MC Collection, but after that what exclusives are scheduled? After the MC Collection, PS4 has LBP3, The Order, and Bloodborne (supposed to be 1st qtr 2015)between Nov 2014 and March 2015. What does MS have planned during that time for me to play cause I don't see anything on the docket....when is Quantum Break coming out? That looks good.

I don't know about the rest of of world but amazon.co.uk tends to have the xbox one games cheaper than the ps4 !
If you you like your console why worry? I never have got this fanboy thing, I don't berate owners for having MS machine and don't see why anyone should. I enjoy my ps4 and will likely buy an xbox one within a couple of years anyway.

Just went on my Xbox One first time in about a month. Greeted by another updated, introducing some new social features that were warmly welcome.
The interface, app integration, snapping etc really makes the console shine, it is such a shame its underperforming in the case of games.
If it performed equally to the PS4 I think Xbox One would blow it out the water.
Still worth owning both though just for the
exclusives.

edit: Oh and EA access is great. I want to play BF4 just for a weekend and for 3.99 I have that, plus a couple of sports games for a whole month. Jackpot IMO.

Well its a fact all mulitplats are currently performing better on the PS4. Some people only care about "the games". Personally I think theyre lying to themselves because the majority of my experience on my PS4 is maintenence, downtime, laggy system etc, but people just cant see beyond resolution.
If there was no difference in RAM, Framerate, Resolution and all that stuff, the PS4 would have only a fraction of its current fans.

SOny fans got a raw deal last gen with the ps3 having terribly ported mulitplat titles and im sure 360 fans gave them shit on here all of the time

Now that the tables are turned those once burned by owning a ps3 can now be on the side dishing out the insults instead of taking them.

Either way I am happy with my xbox one, despite all of the hate and negative comments on this site I still somehow enjoy all of the games I have played (including the ones running only at 900p) And have had great experiences with my friends. Ill be looking forward to the exclusives we will be getting this year and will have plenty on my plate next year.
