EA Access to limit Madden 15

Madden 15 is headed out to gamers on August 26. With EA Access, gamers can get an early look at the game, unfortunately, it's not for long.

I have not keeping up to date with the EA access stuff but is it basically you download the full game 5 days early and have access to it for 6 hours during those 5 days then you pay to get the unlock key on release day.

Thats an okay amount…Not a lot but enough to get a good idea of the game…I don't know why people thought they would get an unlimited amount of time on every upcoming EA game

That is longer than no hours at all. In 6 hrs you can get a good idea if a game like Madden lives up to your expectations, and it would be pretty cool to try a game like DAI a week before it launches for 6 hrs and decide if the game is worth the purchase on your own rather than what people tell you.

Apologies i misunderstood how this worked. 6hrs is cool if you are trying the game. I thought you pay for the game get it a week early then play it for 6hrs and then have to wait another week to keep playing. As you can see that makes 0 sense

If you can't decide if you like a game after 6 hrs then I think you might have a tough time making much more important decisions. Seriously, I think some people are looking for reasons to complain, that's much more generous than I thought it would be, hell I suspect non sports games/SP experiences will be shorter or you might be able to rush through and play most of the games, if not finish.

i think its worth it to be able to test out the full game and see how you like it. thats only one small feature of the service but its still a great addition.

ea's premium service used to let you buy a game 5 days early and play it for an unlimited amount of time, then when it normally releases they unlock the multiplayer part of the game.

At no point did they limit playing time.

But hey, EA access is all about the customer. Only spend $300 in a year before you zero out, any more you spend after that and you start saving a few dollars. But hey, they give you super old free games that you've already bought and you get to play a game for 6 hours a whole week before release!

if you like any sports game, most likely you'll buy it soon after release. But hey, EA will give it to you for free a year later!

And on top of the nonexistent discounts, YOU don't even know if EA will continue the free games after this beta. There are only the 3 or 4 confirmed games, anything can change after the beta and they could just provide 1 year or 2 year old games that you would have probably bought by the time they're released for free.

It's already confirmed the games won't be deleted after the beta and as I said, if you've already got them or don't want them, don't sign up. It's called CHOICE.

In the UK it's £20 a year. Not everyone has a bottomless wallet to buy the latest games. If you either don't have these games, or have just bought an XB1 and don't have a lot of cash for games, then it's a great deal.

You posts are so anti-EA you can't, or don't want to see the value. It certainly doesn't suit everyone but there are a lot of people for whom this is a great proposition.

Games with Gold is not a game subscription service. PS+ and EA Access are.

Since it's introduction, Live has been an online matchmaking service. If you want to play online with any Xbox, you pay the Live sub fee. Games with Gold was introduced towards the end of last year and gives subscribers on the Xbox 360 free game downloads which are theirs to keep even if they don't re-subscribe. Games with Gold was marketed by Microsoft as a thank you gift to subscribers.

PS+ was introduced as an optional subscription game service on the PS3. It had no bearing on PSN and wasn't required for match making since it was free to play online with the PS2 and PS3. With the PS4, Sony made PS+ a requirement to play online. If you didn't find the value in Plus previously, the choice was removed if you simply wanted to play online with your friends.

As far as "bias" is concerned, not seeing the value in EA Access and seeing the value of Plus on the PS4 is as biased as you can get. Comparing Games with Gold to Plus is also biased since GWG cost Live subscribers nothing. It was an added perk to the match making service. Not caring that Sony made their game rental service mandatory to play online is just hypocrisy. Sony has been taking more choices away and been much more anti-consumer with the PS4 and fans have said nothing.

Dude live is and has ALWAYS been a subscription pay gate service. You paid a subscription to play online. They only improved it with GwG to add much needed value.

No one is subscribing to Live for the Games with Gold. PS+ was an optional game subscription service prior to the PS4. EA Access is an optional game subscription service now.

It is completely ignorant to think Live is being promoted as a sub service. It is still the mandatory pay service to play online with an Xbox. The free games are a new feature to the service and not the selling point. The new feature PS4 gamers received was the loss of choice to subscribe to Plus. It is now the pay wall for Playstation owners.

6 hour demo!!! I knew when EA had a demo on live for $5.00 was not a mistake, then came EA Access was a way to sucker gamers, you have gamers saying Oh it's a Good Deal,.. The whole problem with your post is you keep calling it a damn demo. it is the full version of the game you wouldn't have accessed to with a demo that is limited. You sir are intelligent. You nailed it in my opinion. I was smart enough to realize that if I purchased a one month subscription to EA Access I would get early access to......You guessed it the whole freakin game of Madden 15. If I find after six hours that madden is not what I expect it to be (gameplay, modes, online connectivity etc.) I can simply not buy the full version of the game, and not purchase the full subscription to EAA. Also, I have never played the games that are available in the vault on next gen systems until now, but have found all of them to be great. Plus they are free!

As of now I am happy with the reliability and potential of the service. I see it as a good way to play old (games that have been patched) and new games at the same low monthly fee while still having the freedom to purchase other games that are not available on EAA to occupy my time. This can be a win win for some gamers.

They announced when this program was announced that some games would have full access, some would be time limited and some might just be a set slice of the actual game like MP only or SP only. I thought for sure Madden would be limited to 2 hours of play. 6 hours is more than enough to give me a good taste of the game prior to its real launch.

A demo of madden was two teams for 3 minute quarters with accelerated clock on, the game would literally last ten minutes. Now you can try the FULL game with all options and all teams for a 6 hour period and people complain. Seriously, who played the demo 36 times to see if they wanted the previous installments?
