Drake vs. Croft: Who Would Win?

There are bound to be plenty of Uncharted vs. Tomb Raider arguments in 2015 but what if the two protagonists faced off? Who would emerge victorious?

I never really saw Drake as a fighter. I've only played up to UC2 though. He just seems like an average guy who manages to get through things somehow.

Meanwhile, Laura can do freaking backflips in the middle of combat while shooting stuff. She's a beast

According to Uncharted 3, Drake's been doing this since he was like, 15. According to TR13, Lara's been at it a couple of years by the time of the next game? She had some rock climbing and archery and orienteering experience, but combat and facing down death?

Don't think going through hell qualifies her as a great fighter though. Biggest point of the game was that she was doing all that stuff without being trained for it, which was a rather stark contract to the original Lara, or even Drake, who obviously train(or had experience) to be able to do what they do. Heck the original Lara had an obstacle course in her home and outside.

They come to a confrontation. Lara, instead of fighting starts whining like she did for a majority of the reboot. Drake stands there and says "Are you serious?". Then feeling empathy because he's actually a decent guy, he goes to help her do whatever. Lara then proceeds to punch him in the nads, and shoots him in the head. Lara wins. Sully of course laughing the whole time, then takes Lara out for drinks being the pimp that he is.

Of course, with her luck she would run into whatever demonically spiritual sh*tstorm that Drake managed to stumble upon and get torn to shreds...but she'd still beat Drake.

I remember when uncharted first came out people said its kinda like tomb raider now the tomb raider reboot is like uncharted lol.

Uncharted took a lot of elements such as exploration and supernatural encounters, but the new TR has been pretty big with trying to match the big "wow" setpiece encounters from Uncharted. I thought the crazy setpieces in TR13 looked ridiculous and silly when compared against the very grim and grounded narrative from the storyline.

Yeah, the original tomb raiders were more about exploration and the big grandiose action sequences were saved mostly for cut-scenes.

The super-natural elements were there in the original TR, and I honestly felt they did them better than the UC series did where they just kind of threw them in at the end.

But the big action during game play was set up with UC, and the new TR took that for it's new thing, and unfortunately took away most of the exploration and somewhat alone feeling of the original series.

Lara was also much more independent in the original series, and they made her pretty dependent on others to figure out what to do with the reboot. Drake was a loner overall, but often was in situations where he had a partner, but wasn't reliant on them.

Crystal Dynamics said they were going to using more of the exploration game play for the next game, and it had a lot of TR fans happy. I imagine the set pieces will be even more grandiose than the first game though.

In a straight up fist fight, unless a women has been training/body building/knows martial arts a man is likely to win. Why? Because simply their physical differences between a man and a women if neither have been training specifically etc is that a man is better built for fighting, has more muscle etc. It's genetics and it goes back to early humans when men generally did the hunting and gathering plus men naturally should have more testosterone and testosterone causes muscle building, it also seems to lower life expectancy vs women so it's not got its down sides lol. Ofc there will be the rare exception but generally that would be caused by a gene cock up like women who have to deal with more facial hair due to increased testosterone levels or men that have oestrogen issues. And literally start to develop boobs but it's not the norm.

Nathan Drake is mostly just a regular guy who barely knows how to use a gun and keeps getting lucky.

Lara Croft is a total badass who has been trained in both hand to hand combat and guns since like 4 years old. She is basically a female version of Agent 47.

He knows how to use a gun. The first game started with him pulling out a gun, knowing that they were about to be attacked by pirates, and asking Elena if she knew how to use one. He obviously did, and was experienced enough to know that in video games, shooting gas cans causes huge explosion. He obviously also had training in hand to hand combat, as the stuff he did wasn't really street brawl type stuff.

I'm sure he wasn't a kung-fu master or supreme weapons expert like the original Lara, but he could hold his own.

Depends on if you mean the old Lara or the new one. The new one would be attractive if real, but she certainly wasn't any more endowed than other women Drake has known.

Quite honestly, the new Lara is rather ordinary looking. Pretty for sure, but not jaw hits the floor gorgeous.

No matter how much I like Nathan Drake, Lara Croft would demolish him in a gun fight, kung fu fight, etc. any day of the week.

Have you guys even played these games? Drake does some good stuff... against mostly humans. Croft takes down T-Rexs, John Woo style, and downs some supernatural stuff that would send Drake runnin' for the hills -- because he is sane, and Lara is... not so much. There is no contest as to who is the meaner of the two. Anyone who thinks otherwise, has obviously never played Tomb Raider, from any era.

This isn't as close as "Solid Snake vs Sam Fisher"... it just isn't.
