Dang! That is actually sick. The amount of times I have gone round my mates house and we have movie or video files on USB and want to use it on consoles only for that format not to be supported and then have to get a laptop out and connect via HDMI (which is a pain).

GarrusVakarian3544d ago

Nice. I've been waiting for the ability to watch movies/TV shows from my external HDD on my X1 or PS4.

ramiuk13544d ago

wow thats some sweet list there.
i hope Sony sees this too.

Benchm4rk3544d ago

Im sure they will. Just like with the 3D blu ray support that MS announced first then Sony came in and released it in there patch first those sneaky buggers lol

Not sure why people would disagree with your post either. Are people really that pathetic that they dont want Sony to support multiple file types from USB playback.

ramiuk13544d ago

the people on this site worry me pal.
i just hope they dont live by the logic they show on here.

the 3d bluray was funny too,i know alot of the formats are used by pirates etc but its a nice addition and if allowing people to do a little bad gives u sales then im sure they will support it haha

lemoncake3544d ago

Very good selection of supported formats.

MKV!!!!!!! SUUFUCKINWEEET, damn Ms is not playing around with these updates. great work

HacSawJimThugin3544d ago

I when straight to the bottom of the list to see if Mkv was there and oh boy!! Great job MS.

This is the only thing i LOVE about Xbox One. The updates have been amazing!

Sony must step up their game in this regard.

bumnut3544d ago (Edited 3544d ago )

These features should have been available day one, especially when they pitched Xbox One as games/media device.

Better late than never though

ZeroX98763544d ago

MKV Support?!?!? I'm envious of you X1 owners!

Sony should make a quick move and add media compatibility also. It ain't a must have feature, but it's nice to at least get the option.

uth113544d ago

Maybe Sony will suddenly push out an update with DLNA like they did for 3D Blu-ray.

Both had to be in the works for awhile.

Wow, well done Microsoft on listening to it's customers.

The current state of XBone updates is the biggest interest in persuading me to pick one up at some point over the actual game releases for it.

Hopefully this will kick start Sony into paying more attention to it's customer base post console release.

gangsta_red3544d ago

MKV!?!

That is friggin fantastic!!!

aragon3544d ago

I'm surprised this isn't a hot story I've seen rumours of dlna support coming to ps4 blow up big time on this site

Wow surprised at the media player and the list of formats it supports plus DLNA. Props to MS on these updates and features one place they truly excel in.
