With the beta available on all four platforms, Jim and Dave went back for another comparison. See how last-gen and current-gen Xboxes and Playstations compare below - we'd recommend setting the video to 1080p and watching it fullscreen, obviously.
Destiny has made over $160 million in MTX revenue, and these numbers only account the data from late 2017 to early 2019.
That's extremely low for microtransactions, especially for a game that's essentially designed around it
For as much as ppl complain how much they hate microtransactions, they sure don’t act like it. No wonder they aren’t going anywhere.
In Episode 1 of Spot On, a new weekly news show, Gamespot talks about the dangers of chasing a trend.
Playing Destiny 1 on PC has been something fans have been requesting for years. It looks like Destiny 1 is now playable on PC via the RPCS3 emulator.
I agree where he said.... "they were surprised about how good it looks on the 360."
It did look good... same with Titanfall for 360 TBH.
Let's just 180 a bit and recall how the PS4 is supposed to be 50% better?
The visual fidelity is more or less the same... with a slight edge going to PS4.
The difference is a wash.
End all this multiplat comparison malarky... I can understand FPS is relatively important, but not the be all and end all.
I lost a lot of hours to games like Super Smash Bros, Goldeneye, FF7, Pokemon Blue, Duke Nukem, X wing, Sim City... etc... Hell... even had a Commadore 64!
Resolution and FPS is overrated.
Good games are where it's at.
Doesn't really matter what the Xbox version looks like when Playstation is getting exclusive content first.
I can make my own judgement now that I've played both. I have a PS4 & have leveled up to 8 & will definitely buy it when it's released. However I played on the Xbox One version & at no time did it feel any different or look any worse for that matter.
I appreciate the effort put forth by these individuals. Unfortunately, their obvious bias toward the PS4 seems to have influenced their testimonial.
The commentators on this video go out of their way to state that the "PS4 is on top, definitely. It's quite obvious".
I don't take issue with this assessment. The PS4 is a very capable machine and should potentially produce better results than the less powerful XBOX One (especially in 1080 to 900 comparisons).
But immediately after trumpeting the superiority of the PS4 version of Destiny they are at a loss to explain why they have come to that conclusion. They certainly can't seem to lock down a solid answer (other than a brightness/contrast difference)
The initial claim is that "The PS4 stands out, it is the best version". Yet seconds later they admit that their assessment is nothing more than vague conjecture. "I can't put my finger on it... There's something different...I can't quite tell".
So, is there a real difference in these beta versions or are these gentlemen just trying really hard to find one?
