Better take down the picture of the Death Star on a Destiny article before the internet explodes...

Nineball21123565d ago

I switched the image out. Good catch.

FanboyKilla3565d ago

Lol cmon on guys you are better than this. They could be focused on getting us more info about the game, but here you are making it easy for them. Lmfao all these sites have to do is wake up post pics and sit and watch the clicks. $CHING$CHING$ I mean there are more pics than words now. Yes, i know the pic is the topic of this article, but im speaking in general.

Now, to the images and game itself. I stand by my original statement that the game is not impressive in the graphics department. So i can care less which pics are posted on either console ps4 or xone. Oh, you see it looks better on ps4? I still see unimpressive. Oh yeah xone looks better there? Ha, unimpressive. Now im not saying its ugly by far, i think it looks really good, but it doesnt impress.

Real talk give me the pics no labels i couldnt be 100% sure i could pick what console it was from. Kudos to bungie 360 and ps3 are the versions that look amazing, if any.

Now ive graced across ps4 and xone destiny beta. And this is my opinion and comparison. There is a massive change in the gameplay. What i mean by this is, the way it feels when you play. You guys arent going to like this, but its my god honest truth. I never felt comfortable with the dualshock, i kept trying to adjust my sensitivty and controller settings. Never got it to feel good. Campaign, strike missions ect. I could bare it. I didnt like it at all mind you. Then advanced to multiplayer and after a couple of matches i had pretty much decided that i didnt enjoy the feel of the game, and i was out.

In the back of my mind im saying its the contoller, in the front im saying yeah f n right, a controller isnt going to make this better. Thank goodness i was wrong, for once jj. This is a lil long so ill make this short. Destiny feels like it was made for xone, because xone was designed for destiny. Ill never play a non sony exclusive shooter on ps4. When i was trying to adjust my contoller, i was trying to get it to play like xone it cant.

Go on and hate. But for those who care and have the luxary to choose, i recomend you play both. Its my opinion, you might feel some type a way.

Tanks and welcome home Bungie.

ShaqSoda3565d ago

The ps4 and x1 almost like identical. The ps4 has better textures especially from a farther distance.

ShinMaster3565d ago

Yup and the Xbox version is darker as usual.
But other than that, they're pretty similar with no significant differences.

AndrewLB3564d ago

Take a look at that comparison again. The texture quality at varying distances are almost identical between the Xbone and PS4. In all honesty, in that comparison they both look equally poor.

skydragoonity3565d ago

The ps4 version looks best. Can we move along now

I agree with PS4 looking better. The difference between PS3 and 360 is more noticable, in wich I favor the 360 version. I'm sure "the internet" isn't finished with these juicy articles because it makes people click and clicking means money in the pocket.

Bonkerz3565d ago

Just saying you guys do realize the X1 version is running on old software right? Which is why the beta is not 1080P while the game is. Also though from playing the beta on X1 i honestly couldnt care if the game stays at what it is on the beta it looks damn good. If anything you cant even tell its not 1080P. Absolutely no FPS drops, and everything looks great.

Death3565d ago

The game is still output at 1080p on the Xbox One. The differance is native resolution. The PS4 outputs 1080p while the Xbox One version is 900p upscaled to 1080p. When the game ships at 1080p natively, the differance will be minimal at best.

DevilishSix3565d ago (Edited 3565d ago )

Resolution has nothing to do with better texture filtering, better color, better draw distance that PS4 clearly has. That is a GPU issue and PS4 has a much better GPU. You can release all the sdk's you want, but it will never make up the difference in performance unless MS gets developers to gimp PS4 versions. This is a dead issue, there are benchmarks floating around to prove it, time to move on.

Death3565d ago

I agree that it's time to move on. The problem is there are still people that think there is this huge differance that is non existant. The Destiny comparisons are native 900p vs 1080p and people are struggling to see the differance.

The benchmarks you are referring to are stand alone GPU theoretical comparisons not taking into account the CPU side of the APU or the way RAM is accessed. On paper the PS4 GPU sounds awesome, but so did Cell. All the benchmarks in the world mean very little if the end user can't tell.

Can we move on now?

Destiny Made Over $160 Million In Microtransaction Revenue In Less Than 2 Years

Destiny has made over $160 million in MTX revenue, and these numbers only account the data from late 2017 to early 2019.

Sgt_Slaughter333d ago

That's extremely low for microtransactions, especially for a game that's essentially designed around it

LucasRuinedChildhood333d ago (Edited 333d ago )

This was back when the game wasn't free to play.

The figures are from November 2017 to February 2019 (1 year and 4 months).

Based on that projection, the MTX revenue for Destiny 2 likely would have been closer to ~$240m for 2 years.

Not sure if premium expansions are included in that figure either although ... I'd hope that they are though and that most of the revenue was for actual content like Forsaken.

People spend way too much money on cosmetics.

Rude-ro333d ago (Edited 333d ago )

Seasons($10 and just got bumped to $12) and dungeon keys($10 each, two a year) are through the eververse(micro transaction) store.
So for those two years, in order to play a season, you would pay through micro transactions.

Sonic1881333d ago (Edited 333d ago )

Bungie Marathon will be worse since it's designed around it as well

Kurt Russell332d ago

It makes me sad to agree... but at the same time I am looking forward to giving it a go. Destiny 2 is so far in, I find it difficult to figure out what I am meant to do first.

buffig333d ago

I think FIFA alone makes over $1bn a year from mtx

anast333d ago

FIFA promotes a worldwide sport. It should make more money than destiny.

CantThinkOfAUsername333d ago (Edited 333d ago )

Let's compare something similar. Apex Legends and its ridiculous $18/$40 skins make EA a billion each year.

z2g333d ago

For as much as ppl complain how much they hate microtransactions, they sure don’t act like it. No wonder they aren’t going anywhere.

spicelicka333d ago

By "people" you're referring to millions and millions of people. Obviously the ones complaining aren't necessarily the same as the ones spending all that money.

There's millions that purchase MTX and there's nothing we can do about it

I've been thinking about playing through D1 again before it goes away...

CobraKai484d ago

That’s the sad reality of a game like this. I bought it, invested lots of money, and it can go away at anytime. I still think this was more fun than 2.

jeromeface483d ago

prob because 2 is a grindfest slog

spoonard481d ago

That's the bummer of 'games as a service'.
