The Next Gen Has No Games?

An ever-present issue that seems to get brought up by someone on every gaming site is that either the Xbox One or the PlayStation 4 don’t have any games in their respective libraries. Are these claims true? In the six months that these consoles have been out, have there been no real relevant releases to entice buyers? In this video I take a look into the matter.

There's no spontaneity about them at the very least. No one has yet offered anything as yet which is truly "next gen". Titanfall used a generations old engine and Second Son is a series/franchise redux.

Dark Souls has better gameplay and it's on the PS3. Titanfall is repackaged CoD, Halo, and MechAssault in one.

Nope! On or not on PS4, Titan fall is unoriginal, ugly, and repetitive. For a game that has been in development for THAT long it should have been better than it is. And yeah it has been THAT long. That game has been teased and mentioned for several years. From the "we opened a new studio cause we got fired and unpaid and stuff and we got this new awesome game we can't tell you about but it's awesome and it's coming soon" to the "This is our game and it's exclusive to the xbone because the other guys wouldn't give us money". Between those 2 comments were YEARSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

Naughty Dog has come out and said they aren't changing their engine either!! So whats that matter... If it works, build on it as naughty dog and respawn have done... both games were great but both very very short..

you guys looking for next gen will be disappointed. graphics is what changes from gen to gen worlds get larger ai gets better games look better. What makes ps3 launch or 360 launch any better than the ps4 and x1 launches?

consoles are easier to get online, easier to join friends games ps4 game installs are like 1 min.

ease of use has gotten even better with ps4 and x1 and cleaner games make for better games. games arent so blurry and the dualshock 4 makes playing more fun.

hardware/software implemented into the consoles makes for a more fun experience even playing cross gen titles.

That all depends on the gamer I guess. Been extremely happy with my PS4 purchase on day one, as I'm sure that many have been satisfied with there XB1 purchase, and Wii U purchase.

MGS5 is short, but seems pretty "next gen" to me. Comparing it to other games, I am having a ton of fun playing it! Even if it is on ps3/360 also, I'd say it still seems pretty next gen.

ehh its just like every gen. theres not that many games for the first year and half or so than boom, first party dev start laying there big cards on the table. thats why I'm holding off buying a PS4 for a while, want to see what ND has in hand before spending cash. plus by then there will be probably a price drop

Realistically xb1 has newer game IP's Ryse, Titanfall, plants vs zombies project spark, max curse of the brotherboard

Dead rising 3, forza, killer instinct remade and seen before with new stories and graphics

Ps4 all the games except knack are not new

Ryse is a new game get over it, and dont get me started on the other games i mentioned.

When a ps4 dev tells you the ps4 only uses 14CU's for games you guys cant accept it. I told you guys this months ago.

Ryse, forza, and dead rising 3 were all originally 360 games MS pushed back to have a "good" XB1 launch, TitanFall on an old engine is hardly next gen, project spark is still in beta, but has potential to be the next Little Big Planet, killer instinct is fricking laughable. Let's not sit here and praise a bunch of hold outs and sequels for one platform (XB1) and then say the other platform just has a bunch of the same.
Cause in all reality KILLZONE shadow fall and infamous second sons are 2 of the best looking next gen games out there.

The hell? Ryse is a 360 game. Titanfall is a multiplat. Pvz is from last gen. And Max isn't a new IP either, if I remember correctly.

That leaves Project Spark, obviously influenced by LBP and other such creative titles.

If you can find Ryse for the xbox 360 on store shelves please enlighten us. It started as a 360 kinect project and was completely overhauled into a totally different game from their first idea which was a first person kinect game.

There's no must have games on PS4 or XB1 yet, there are some good exclusives, but nothing incredible or worth spending hundreds of dollars just to play. Won't be until the end of this year where there will be some must have exclusives (e.g. The Order, Driveclub, Quantum Break, Sunset Overdrive and more)

The funny thing is its never just one game this goes for third party as well as exclusives. It just means we want to play all those games we were promised last year.

Like I said its isn't 1 or a handful games its those plethora of announced titles that were showcased. Same thing will happen this E3 with unannounced titles. So on and so forth rinse and repeat until the libraries are big enough that they are worth revisiting and we won't be saying next gen has no games.

Yeah, next gen has some few games. Most of them are already on other platform and it's not even the better version. Also the games out only on these are pretty average beside one or two.

I think everyone is still used to how many titles that were coming out for the previous consoles. We had one great title after the next, and the consoles were at the peak of their powers. Now with the new gen upon us, it's slow for 2 reasons in my opinion. One, this has historically been the slow months of gaming. From March to late summer. Two, these are new consoles. Devs are transitioning to the new gen and historically, new consoles have always started off slow. But, in spite of how slow it's been for gaming, these consoles have launch with the most games that I can remember.

IMO the problem is that making games takes a lot of cash and game companies want to hit as wide an audience as possible. Therefore we are getting a lot of cross gen games, where this was less seen last time because of the sift from standard to high def.

There is lot of games coming i am excited for the division, battlefront, gears of war, like to see more of sunset overdrive. Newer games not yet seen by people will decide e3 for Sony or Microsoft

A lot of the games that this guy listed at the start are games that I've already played on other platforms (PC), which is why I haven't gotten a PS4 yet. I seriously hope that Sony kills at E3 with a new selection of games.

Well parts of some of the games feel next gen, titanfall has (in my opinion) next gen-ish gameplay but under par graphics so we need an entire package of next gen to call it that, true and true.

I think our best bet is watch dogs, the division, and the witcher 3.

There are quite a few games out for the next-gen consoles, but nothing that catches my eye. Killzone: Shadowfall did not impress me when I tried it over at a friend's place, and I was a big fan of KZ2 and KZ3.

I loved the first Infamous game and I own the second one on PS3 but still haven't played it yet, but Infamous: Second Sun just doesn't look interesting to me.

Because I refuse to pay a subscription for a console, I decided to upgrade my PC with a GTX 780 instead. As you know Titanfall is available on PC, but it didn't impress me at all, not to mention the price tag for a multiplayer-only game was a big turn-off.

Watch_Dogs could possibly be the first game to impress me this generation, or at least I hope it does.
