Pure Opinion: No Man’s Sky is Just Possibly, Maybe a ‘Must Buy’ Now

Pure PlayStation: Some, like myself, saw through the game's shortcomings and enjoyed it for what it was, others lambasted Hello Games and called them out for being con artists while Sony basically threw the little studio under a bus and distanced itself away from the game.

It's still worthless garbage.

Dark_Knightmare22445d ago

Cool story don't come to articles about it if you don't like it. I mean people usually people don't take parts in things they don't like. It would be like eating broccoli even though you hate it or watching a movie you absolutely can't stand which would be as ridiculous as you coming to this article for a game you hate.

one2thr2445d ago

What constitutes a games, "worth"?

chris2352446d ago

i wonder if they planned on deserting this trainwreck after what they delivered but sony maybe said "we are not supporting you anymore, but if you don't deliver what you promised, we're going to sue the hell out of you". that may be the real reason why they poured out several major updates during the past year.

i got the impression when i started the game up again past weekend that this game now needs a completely different approach. they added so many features, their original approach now drags the game along leaving an incoherent mess.

Dark_Knightmare22445d ago

lol man you haters will reach for anything. If hello games would have just took the money and ran you would be here running your mouth but they didn't so now it's Sony who made them do it like they would even give a s**t.

Father__Merrin2445d ago

Also to note the advertising agency found no wrong doing on hello games part. It's a case of people needing learn English Tbh

Ashlen2445d ago (Edited 2445d ago )

The truth is whle everyone was hating on Sean Murry for saying things would be in the game they conveniently ignored one thing he said repeatedly... that the game would continue development after launch.

Continued development was always the plan.

OoglyBoogly2445d ago

Yeah but that doesn't change the fact Sean still lied a ton though. I mean, I always enjoyed the game but even after all these updates there's still a ton more we were told and shown that isn't here.

So while the game itself has certainly continued to get better and better, it's still not what I was expecting (especially the exploration...all the caves STILL look the same and offer no reason to wonder through them).

one2thr2445d ago

"Incoherent mess", starting to think you guys are recycling nonsense from the previous year, or just expressing blind hate for game you guys had no interest in buying in the first place.

As a day one adopter, 1.3 is a huge step forward especially for the cry babies that wanted multiplayer, now you get an early yet limited from of multiplayer that ties in perfectly with the new story approach. As the other players are "glitches", in reality, and all realities are parallel to each other, and !spoiler!
***SPOILER****
Sentinels have destroyed an entire universe because of these anomalies.

And if you want to meet up with other players, you better search and learn those glyphs.

HG did what a majority of the complainers wanted, and now you guys are trying to make up ways to hate this game.

Sad.

gbsrnctaln2445d ago

Well there are idiots, and then there is this guy. I think you figured it out bro lol

Lon3wolf2445d ago

Sony had nothing to do with HG fixing/improving this game, they all but washed their hands of it after all the backlash on its release.Sony only offered funds to get HG to make a PS4 version, that's as far as it went (apart from Sony publishing the game).

rainslacker2445d ago

Unless they had some contract with HG that they had to make that content in such a way, any obligation HG had to Sony after Sony published it was to fix whatever was not working in the original game. Sony would have agreed to publish the final content they did, and at that point, a typical contract ends. Anything after that would require a new contract, and as far as I'm aware, Sony isn't paying for these updates, although I'm sure they are publishing the actual updates on their system for the PS4 version as they were the original publisher.....which means HG doesn't have to pay for those updates to be certified like most devs would after their first two free ones are used.

I'm really baffled here, these type of articles just keep coming and yet the game is still terrible. Even just walking across a field feels horrible in this game (feels like its jittery on both platforms), how is that must buy?

Dark_Knightmare22445d ago

Ok dude that's what you think but obviously players and these gaming sites feel different no big deal move along and don't come to no mans sky articles

Elwenil2445d ago

Why not? Isn't his opinion just as valid as yours? Do you have some reason that you don't want people expressing bad opinions about this game? I think the whole point of the comments section is for everyone to have a say and express their opinions, regardless of how pro or con they are. People like you that want to silence any opinion but your own disgust me.

kevnb2445d ago (Edited 2445d ago )

hey its what I think, cant help it.

Ashlen2445d ago

Jittery? I own in on both PS4 and PC and it's fine on both. At launch it had problems but those have been fixed since the first month or so.

kevnb2445d ago

its jittery even in the video...

one2thr2445d ago (Edited 2445d ago )

Well this/these type(s) of game(s) really isnt/aren't for you, when a gam, ANY game at that has exploration as one of its main points, you better expect to walk, drive, etc.

At this point people like you have no valid points of being upset about this game a yyear later.

And miss me with the HG lied articles, cause that goes both ways. Reason being, is that no one can show me any prereleasr gameplay demos or trailers with any of those features being used or activated during any of the on and off stage presentations, hell GOW Ascension had online betas.

If $60, got you this uptight and in your feelings from a year ago, then you have bigger problems to address.

gbsrnctaln2445d ago

Nice to see that you bought a game twice that you think is terrible.

GUTZnPAPERCUTZ2445d ago

I don't think it's terrible, I bought it for Pro last night for $23.99 and Im having fun so far! Kind of overwhelming at first but Im sure the content will even out. Great game to put some jams on in the background and just relax and explore!

Also, does anyone on here know how to switch between 1080p-60 mode and 4k unlocked framerate mode? There is no option under general settings except framerate lock?

Lon3wolf2445d ago

I'm even more baffled as to why you keep reading/visting them :).

kevnb2445d ago

theres new articles every week here.

FullmetalRoyale2445d ago

For under twenty-five bucks, if you haven't tried it, it's certainly worth it.
I bought it at launch, and again just last week. I haven't gotten to the real new stuff(I started over), but I am enjoying the tweaks in the beginning.

The game that keeps on giving 🦾🥳✌️

The support they've given this game only makes me more interested in their next game.

Agree, curious what they are cooking up for that one?!

The 10 PSVR 2 Games You Should Own

If you're wanting more PSVR 2 support, you should probably buy all of these games.

Speak with your wallet!

Profchaos38d ago

Bit rich to have to buy games you don't want because you want Sony to support the expensive headset they sold us which cost as much as the console it runs on beyond paying third partys to support it.
Seriously in terms of first party we have horizon on day 1 and a gt 7 vr mode.

They seemingly have made little effort to support it beyond paying Capcom to make re games in VR or a second party studio to make firewall which was mismanaged.

I'm a day 1 psvr2 user and the only thing I'm excited for right now is PC support.

I commented recently this bespoke VR game development model we have right now clearly doesn't work

crazyCoconuts38d ago

On the one hand I feel like there's been plenty of smaller non-AAA games to play and occupy me as a supplement to my flat screen gaming.
But I agree that Sony has done nothing to elevate this beyond the niche it's in and into the mainstream where it would be economical to create AAA games for it.

Babadook738d ago (Edited 38d ago )

Most of these games are worth owning for most people; I own all but 2 of them in fact. So I agree with kevco33. I think you're crazy if you downplay this list quite frankly. Sony can't keep funding software if people don't buy any of it, the ball is squarely in OUR court.

Sony has spent a lot on 3rd party stuff this gen like RE.

phoenixwing38d ago (Edited 38d ago )

Saving up for the headset is my first hurdle. Let alone buying games I don't want lol

mudakoshaka38d ago

People downvoting you for not having enough finances...what a world we live in, haha

phoenixwing38d ago (Edited 38d ago )

@mudako
They feel affronted at the very thought that I don't plunk down 500 immediately lol I have a little over 900 games in my backlog I've been buying games instead of hardware ever since I got my PC and ps5. I just don't know if vr is really for me honestly. Every time I have a couple hundred allocated to video games it makes more sense to buy a bunch of flat games instead of vr ones

mudakoshaka38d ago

I have 9 out of these 10 games. I try to buy all the VR games I like to support the advancement of VR!

TheEroica37d ago (Edited 37d ago )

I spoke with my wallet after watching the first headset get weak support. Easy pass until Sony earns my money. Feel bad for those who parted with 500 bucks, falling for the hype that Sony was actually gonna support this thing.

Neonridr38d ago

I own 7 of these titles off the list, lol.

NotoriousWhiz38d ago

I'm trying to decide if it's worth holding onto my psvr 2. I enjoy what it has currently, but it seems unlikely to get anything else. Might be better off just waiting for something with more support if that ever comes.

Profchaos38d ago

As a fellow psvr2 owner the question seemingly comes down to do you own a PC.

I think I'm all in I have a habit to hold onto my systems anyhow I still have my psvr1 to hell I still have my NES.

But while it's still worth something yeah you could sell it and if Sony turns the ship around you should be able to buy another one for less than you soldmit for I feel like we won't see any fix for the headset for the next 2 years rumours show that Sony has no current first party VR games in active development after they closed London studios

The whole psvr2 situation has left me feeling a little burnt on PlayStation as a whole to be honest. The first psvr felt experimental but it was supported far more than this superior headset

MIDGETonSTILTS1738d ago

GT7 surprised me, because I hate racing games, but i poured 100 hours into it way too quickly.

I’m looking forward to the Metro VR game this year, and I hope that WW2 dogfighter game releases eventually.

talocaca38d ago

I have most of them 😅

Waiting for a sale on Synapse and Arizona Sunshine 2.....also Metro coming this year looks great.
