PlayStation 4 outsold Xbox One and Nintendo Switch last month in the U.S.

Sony introduced a new model of its of its slim PlayStation 4, and that juiced sales for the console in June. The PS4 was the top-selling hardware platform last month ahead of Nintendo Switch or Microsoft's Xbox One, according to industry-tracking firm The NPD Group. The new gold 1TB slim PlayStation 4 drove those sales and led to the best June ever for PS4 system sales.

The PlayStation deserves to win and it makes sense for a console that gets a lot of exclusive titles with a lot of third party titles. The Xbox one doesn't deserve to win because the pc has all it's games with better performance and graphics and xbl is free on the pc. The ps4 will most likely continue to win all npds until Microsoft has some insane deals where the xbox is a lot cheaper than the PlayStation and Microsoft will be giving away a lot of games for free. Xbox one x can probably win a month In the US but I highly doubt it

Yes, I do know that the XB1x will be releasing on the 7th November 2017 at a price of $500 USD. I will guarantee it will sell but how many with respect to the XB1slim that will be interesting.

If you are in the market for an XB1 as a present and assuming you are not a savvy console or PC gamer which includes most people would you seriously consider an XB1slim with some pack in games for about $200 to $250 USD or would you consider spending $250 to $300 USD with no pack in games for the XB1x?

BTW. It is possible that the XB1x will have at least one pack in game.

I have not even brought the PS4 or the Switch into the equation.

There was a big leak yesterday, the PS4 is outselling the Xbox One 2:1 in the US in 2017 and is 15% than it's average in 2015, which was it's previous highest. It also sold more in June than the Xbox and Switch combined. It's going to hit 70M this year. Crazy.

But you have to consider, only 1/5 PS4s being sold are Pros, considering Xbox One X is a $100 more than Pro, I think it's reasonable to assume that it will make up even less than 1/5 of Xboxes sold. Also referring to your comment about the "gap there isn't really a big deal." Consider this, the Xbox One X is 40% more powerful than the Pro, the Pro is 130% more powerful than the original PS4. You gotta look at the whole picture. $500 is a tall order for most console gamers, especially when you consider there's not really any high demand first party titles releasing at the same time. A new Halo game might have changed things, but right now it just looks like a niche piece of hardware that looks to appeal to people that really care about graphics, but not enough to buy a PC. I could be wrong, but that seems like a really narrow target demo. A price drop on the Pro will hurt it even further.

Zelda is a veteran IP with at least 10 games
Horizon is a New IP with a previous track record of Killzone an OK shooter
Most Sony Exclusives have long legs you can start to see this happening in sales
As of June 3
Horizon is now 92,669 last time tracked was 40Kish?
Zelda 69,507 last time tracked was 90Kish?

And there's this: Diversity in games might explain also why you are only getting 3 million HZD only sold at this point.
Exclusives do matter, look at it this way:

Exclusive Games Key: Letter Number = Game, and Console 1 or Console 2

So while every player bought 3rd party game XX, most were steered in the Console's 1 direction due to the choices in exclusives. Sure they did not sell as much combined as the XX game, but there was choice, a diversity of exclusives on console 1 that led more to buy that system.

So yes, exclusives do matter quite a lot.

As soon as the Scorpio is released the PS4 Pro will be discounted. When that happens, i'd love to see the sales figures, because somehow i think Scorpio will bomb like fuck. PC gamers will stick to their high end rigs, XBONE owners won't pay out for an investment that can't deliver more than just power with no exclusives for the Scorpio. Nintendo Switch owners will continue to invest in their own console and PS4 owners won't even bother, they have what they need and more from a games console, many made the switch from XBONE to a Playstation, they're hardly going to turn back.

Scorpio will be a premium console for a niche audience, it offers nothing people haven't already got, simple.

Why is it that the Switch is still impossible to find at all my local retailers, but the PS4 is well stocked on every shelf, but the PS4 is *outselling* the Switch? You'd think Nintendo could manage to supply the same number of consoles to stores as Sony is shipping. Why aren't they, or why can't they? It makes no sense. I want to buy a Switch, but I'm not waking up at 5am to get in line at Best Buy and wait hours to hope to get one on Sunday morning.
