Will say this , Bungie knows how to build hype

Abriael2534d ago

I'm SO hoping they deliver. For me the first was already very good, just needed a better narrative.

leemo192534d ago

Me too, they already did a few changes from what Ive been reading and what I saw, like finally adding a optional matchmaking to Raids,ToO, and NFs, which was a huge thing people wanted In the first Destiny.

Would be really nice to have proximity voicechat.

-Foxtrot2534d ago

Nope

Not getting sucked in...they did the same "OMFG look at the trailer" hype for the first one.

Fool me once...

rezzah2531d ago

They did it a second time with the Oryx Expansion for Year 2.

MellauxGMNG2534d ago

This could easily pass off as an expansion for the original, looks exactly the same

Erik73572533d ago (Edited 2533d ago )

I agree but in return I think we are looking at way more detailed missions and the environments look way bigger. So instead of focus on making new assets it looks like the focused on the content.

Combat looks polished as well, combat was fantastic in the first one but this one looks like the weapons have more variety which was greatly needed.

Only thing they need to sell me on now is the characters and story. Hopefully they can deliver on that.

rezzah2531d ago

Even if combat is great due to variety of weaponry and available abilities, the issue with combat is Bungie because of their desire for Nerf Rotation.

Sorry I don't buy the hype, Bungie.

It's interesting to have a sequel with improvement on a great game when such improvement signifies a leap. However no developer will dares to make a game with the same graphics, same level of detail, same game play mechanics and PVP limitations. Bungie is doing a DLC release with the name Destiny 2 Why not dedicated servers? Why not adopt the PVP server style made in the game Overwatch? Why have random cyclic levels and random players? Why not have private servers?

At this point the game looks the same to Destiny 1 in terms of graphics, structure and game mechanics. The pace is slow, the graphics runs at 30 frames per second. There are no mayor improvements on the game structure, strikes and raids. This is an EXACT REPETITION OF Destiny 1. Why purchase this for 60 dollars and two more DLC for 40 dollars?
Why?

The shield of VOLT PRIME is the same shield that appears here in the game play reveal. Many things done by Digital Extremes' Warframe where copy pasted literally to Destiny 2. I can deal with the Halo 2 Brute Shot grenade launcher. However many of these powers are literally taken from Warframe for example Excalibur Exalted blade, Frost ice globe, Prisma Gorgon, Dual Cleavers, Zephyr dive bomb attack, the Glaive disc, etc. Why should I waste 60 dollars when a great game like Warframe offer much, much more for free? In Warframe you have Archwing missions and flying. In DESTINY 2 you have only ground missions.

Bungie, I am not going to buy a re skinned Destiny 2. I don't need to buy it since Warframe gives a lot more for free. Why do I have to wait one week reset for a raid when in Warframe you have 1 day reset? Why suffer RNG low drop rates for armor pieces when I waited a week when in Warframe I have more chances to get what I want for my time played. Bungie, sorry but this time around you have the burden of proof. Destiny 1 was not all that great and this seems to be more of the same.

Keep this game for yourselves, Bungie. I will keep my money this time around. I'll better spend it in Horizon Zero, Overwatch and Warframe as an optional feature for item rushes. You see, I am not going to suffer the random nerfs you did with few unbalanced weapons. I am not going to suffer the torture of the Ghallarhorn drop rate and the trolling of the nerfed Ghallarhorn and many other weapons for your miss calculations ever again.

Thanks but no thanks. This time around Bungie you have to prove that your second installment is relevant, that you respect my time spend on the game and my effort getting rank, better items and weapon improvements. Up to now you are trying to charge me 60 dollars for recycled assets of a previous video game.

Graphics are unimpressive, levels are quite small following the format of the gigantic beta game that was Destiny 1. The acting is better but we want to fly vehicles instead of watching screen savers. Even the screen saver in Warframe is more interactive than the one seen in Destiny 2.

so....nty

rezzah2531d ago

Well said.

Did you see the boss for the Strike they revealed on youtube?

It is a rehashed Atheon.

Felsager2531d ago

Exactly.

Bungie is trying to design a game with extremely cheap assets. Bungie lost all reputation with their attempt. For many of us, Destiny died long time ago. It's impossible to turn back once you play Horizon Zero, Warframe, Titan Fall 2 and Overwatch.

Destiny 2: Into the Light Is a Fantastic Reason to Return

Onslaught is certainly a lot of fun. Plus it's nice having a wide array of extremely useful weapons to grind for.

Been having a blast using The Mountain top as a traversal tool rather than a weapon

10 Years Later, Bungie STILL Hasn't Improved Warlock Mobility in Destiny 2

Warlocks in Destiny 2 are great for loads of things. Healing? We got that. Awesome PvE action? Sure! Warlock Mobility? Severely lacking.
