A necessary failure? Lmao!

LOL_WUT2656d ago

Yeah how comical of him to say that the WiiU was a necessary failure which, in turn, led to the creation of the Switch. I Wonder what will they say if this thing fails? ;)

Moonman2656d ago

Nintendo should of let the Wii brand go after Wii but probably was just wishing to save time in between their ideas for Switch. Cost was probably the reason for Wii U's lack of features. Switch leaves Wii branding behind and it's going to sell.

bouzebbal2656d ago

That they based it on a failed device and they wanted to push the idea another way to show people the hidden potential. Some PR garbage like we hear often from this guy. I think he's the worst of this industry.. Never admits a single mistake

DC7772655d ago

Could have been ok but they refused to ditch the gamepad. That held the cost too high.

Moonman2656d ago (Edited 2656d ago )

I understand what he means. Nintendo has had a hit then a miss for their home consoles since the N64 was a hit. It is now time for another HIT! Wii U was always going to sell less than Wii. Why? It is an HD system and Nintendo's first HD system. Even Nintendo had to learn how to make HD games. Zelda took forever to make but now they know how to make a HD Zelda. It's like when Sony went HD with PS3. Now granted they did a much better job turning things around for PS3, there were stumbles at first. Sony's PS3 was a success but still their lowest selling home console (and I say that with respect to their 100 million standard) and the first time they didn't "win" a generation. Nintendo needs more second party studios making exclusive games. That is painfully obvious.

Sony fans love to call Wii U a failure, but Vita sold less and PSVR needs life right now.

KwietStorm_BLM2655d ago (Edited 2655d ago )

Does the Vita's lack of sales or the PSVR [supposedly] needing life mean the Wii U was not a failure? What the hell is the relevance? It isn't "Sony fans" calling the Wii U a failure. It's everyone with a brain and 2 eyes. Or 1 eye. Or someone who gets their news through audio only.

He was asked that. But of course N4G never reads the articles.

Clearly, his body is not ready for the Wii U.

Reggie:"I hope consumers look back at Wii U as a necessary step, in order to get to Nintendo Switch.”
^^^ And people think I'm the one trolling here -__-

Embracer CEO Lars Wingefors: "I deserve a lot of criticism."

Embracer CEO demonstrates a masterclass in mental gymnastics in latest interview.
"I'm sure I deserve a lot of criticism, but I don't think my team or companies deserve all the criticism. I could take a lot of that blame myself. But ultimately I need to believe in the mission," he said.

Turned based Phantasy Star and Shinning Force remain at the top of my list of Sega IPs that need to return. At the very least I'd take a Shining Force collection that has 1,2,3, CD and the Game Gear entries.

FinalBoss5d ago

I was hesitant to put these two on. I've personally played more PSO than the RPG version. And shame on me, I don't remember much about Shining Force to talk about it properly.

That said, so many Sega licences deserve their place in this list.

jznrpg2d ago

A new Phantasy Star in the numbered series would be amazing. Shining Force too. But I’d settle on some collections as that’s probably the best we will get

anast4d ago

I don't trust Sega to do a proper comeback. The games will be just remastered and/or monetized to death.

gold_drake4d ago

shining force.

but indont see that happening unfortunately.
