Microsoft and Nintendo seem to have their head up their a**. They make gaming consoles but don't make games their priority. Like I get that Nintendo is trying to be innovative and crap but this is their reveal and the 1-2 Switch game is the most anti gaming 'video game' I have ever seen. Next installment they should have a console that comes with a checkerboard.

Erik73572659d ago (Edited 2659d ago )

No, I think this console looks amazing and am getting it day one.

Love how they are bringing couch co op back and the launch seems stronger than ps4/xbox one's launch.

Zelda at launch? Please don't tell me your shitty Knack or Ryse beats that

Nitrowolf22659d ago (Edited 2659d ago )

Isnt it just like 4 confirmed games for launch? Correct me if Im wrong, but regardless with how big Zelda is that doesnt exactly spell a strong launch.

1-2-Switch - March 3
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - March 3
Skylanders Imaginators - March 3
Just Dance 2017 - March 3
For comparison this was the ps4 games at launch.
http://m.ign.com/wikis/play...
Sure none are no zelda, but some of those are still some great title like resogun.
And lets not go into how many third party games are releasing in March that wont be on the switch.

I mean, you Are talking about a game that was ported over from last gen, promised to release on a product that Nintendo said they would back only to kill off. Forcing people to get switch for a new zelda game. And if it is still coming to the Wii U, that even makes it look weaker IMO.
Edited - it is still coming to the Wii U, and as a wii u owner who had faith in the system the lineup gives me no reason to buy a switch orher than to resell it when its out of stock.

One potentially amazing game doesnt make its launch lineup great, because people like diversity and the other titles arent exactly what many would call strong.

Least ps4 and X1 had a strong third party presence. Yeah you can say "who cares about third party games", well a lot of people do and this is just spelling Wii U again. Big hitters released throughout huge haps of no games.

And lets not go into how couch co op was being marketted. "Player face to face interaction, no screen needed". Doesnt that defeat the purpose? I mean cant i already do that, right now this moment grab a stick and pretend its a gun and play cops vs robbers?

Will see how the switch does with all this bragging you're doing here...

Protagonist2659d ago (Edited 2659d ago )

@Erik7357

The switch is competing with the current state of PS4 and Xbox One, not when they launched... get a grip dude.

badz1492659d ago (Edited 2659d ago )

of course they will have Zelda at launch this time around considering the game was originally announced for the Wii U, held from release to make the Switch version. it's basically a last gen Nintendo game ported to their next gen.

cash_longfellow2659d ago

Don't complain when it's collecting dust at the same time next year then.

dadano2659d ago

Well if i think that a possible ps4slim + Horizon bundle May cost 250€ and a weaker Switch with pro Controller and Zelda around 500€ and No games...i Love Nintendo but the pricing ist a Joke, the joycon a wiimote, No games and my TV ist 4k. ill Play Zelda in my Wii u

Well you can look at it as a Zelda at launch but i see it as the reason i bought the WII U when the WII U is dead... it would be the same of Sony kept delaying horizon zero dawn until ps5 releases ... now wouldn't that be an accomplishment an awesome game at launch of the PS5 ...

pretty sure they demonstrated a wide variety of games coming. Some are completely out in left field, others will be more traditional. But don't say that Nintendo didn't show off games. Just because they aren't called Call of Duty or Destiny doesn't mean they don't count.

Gh05t2659d ago

They showed of teasers for games and most of them where meh at best. When I buy a Nintendo console its not for Call of Duty its for Nintendo IP and they showed of BotW (SEEN IT ALREADY) and Mario and splatoon if that is your thing, then they start with a 1 2 switch and Arms (GTFO!) it should have been full of IP. Classic characters that everyone wants to delve back in. I would have rather had a bunch of teaser trailers to Kirby, Donky Kong, Smash Bros, Star Fox, Pikmin, Pokemon, Animal Crossing, Metroid, Golden Sun or a new Luigi, Waluigi or Wario game. The closest we got to these was a teaser for Fire Emblem. and a bunch of stuff nobody asked for.

I am all for diversity, but if you cant come out of the gate strong with your own franchises and are wasting time making Arms a full game rather than a comes prepackaged with the console, I have no faith in the company and I hate the direction they have been headed for a long time. I was really hoping to come back to Nintendo with the switch, its just not for me, at least I know this now but it still sucks and is sad because I wanted to like it.

LOL_WUT2659d ago

I don't understand why they invited developers who are only in the concept stages of developing their games talking about they have games for the Switch LOL. ;)

Amplitude2659d ago (Edited 2659d ago )

@LOL_WUT

My fav part was

"lets SWITCH... to something else"
"hey guys. Were developing a game. It's gonna be good"
"Now lets SWITCH... to Skyrim!"

obviously not direct quotes but pretty damn close hahaha

FallenAngel19842659d ago

That was to be expected considering the various controversial things at the reveal

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory2659d ago

Okay......investors just didn't get thei $200 price and mobile crap shoehorned into the Switch.

LOL_WUT2659d ago (Edited 2659d ago )

For what was shown $200 seems like a good price point ;)

Derceto2659d ago

What a surprise. Hilariously lame reveal, shares fall. Shareholders must be so impressed right now.

Pancit_Canton2659d ago

The stock holders are not amuse, same goes for the gamers.

Review - Sticky Business (Switch) | WayTooManyGames

WTMG's Leo Faria: "The Switch version of Sticky Business is less of a game, and more of a very clunky and shallow creative tool with not a lot to entice players for long. The progression system is silly, the gameplay loop lacks any kind of excitemente, and the controls and interface are embarassingly bad, never taking advantage of the Switch’s touchscreen, or even giving us the bare minimum of a completely cursor-based interface. There’s just no sense of accomplishment while playing it. It’s just downright frustrating. If you really want to play Sticky Business, and come up with your sticker empire of sorts (hey, I’m not judging), just stick to the PC version."
