There’s a Couple of New PSVR Experiences Out Today, Kygo and LENS

Pure PlayStation: It ain’t easy being an early adopter of Sony’s PSVR. If you’ve had it since day one then there’s a fair chance that you’ve bought and played just about everything available on the system that’s caught your eye. Now you’re hungry. Starving. Foaming at the mouth for a new game. A new experience.

Don't worry, RE7 is getting close now. Then there's Farpoint to look forward to. After that however...?

DeadlyOreo2667d ago

Gran Turismo: Sport
TEKKEN 7
Ace Combat
Probably some random PC ports too.

It'll get support dont worry.

The latest GT Sport trailer had the caveat that only selected vehicles and tracks would support PSVR, so that concerns me.

Tekken 7 is a game I'm looking forward to a lot but we don't even know how VR will be used in it, it might just be a separate character viewer mode or something.

AC7, I'd like to know if the game is fully playable in PSVR or if it's like GT Sport.

The poor showing at PSX was a red flag for me also. I really hope Sony get serious about VR now, leave the handheld game and focus those resources on VR. RE7 can only last so long.

I would rather play a game on a TV with better graphics than be able to look around with a VR helmet.

FunAndGun2667d ago

I would rather have the option to do both. Why do you have to pick one way to game?

They are both enjoyable and both offer something the other can't.

Fojie_012667d ago

You say this because you have not had the experience of being in a vr world, in a good vr game. If you had, you would know the opposite is true. How ever fatigue is a factor.

Liqu1d2666d ago

Okay. It's a good job you can still do that then.

dillydadally2666d ago

I might have said that before I got a PSVR. Now literally any game not in VR is boring and underwhelming. It's truly incredible.

ElementX2666d ago

I will wait for a higher resolution VR helmet. I'm sure psvr is nice for what it does, however I prefer better visuals. Even the pc vr helmets require a pretty powerful pc to run decently with higher resolutions. I'll wait for second generation vr before I spend my money

How about games instead of "experiences"?

Cupid_Viper_32667d ago (Edited 2667d ago )

To the both of you. There are over 60 games released for PSVR since its launch on October 13, 2016. That's an average of about 20 games per month, have you guys played them all? Most of them, perhaps? or just a select few?

http://www.playstationlifes...

Not making excuses or anything for Sony, but games, especially quality ones, take a long time to make. And Rome wasn't built in one day. The PS4 seems to be getting games left and right nowadays, but that wasn't always the case, it took some 2 years to get into that flow where developers are comfortable with the hardware and making quality games at a faster rate.

Another point is that VR is more than just gaming. There are so many cool things that are possible with VR, so "experiences" are a valid part of the VR thing. I know I would be annoyed if I couldn't watch Youtube or Netflix on PS4, yet these apps have nothing to do with games.

Cy2667d ago

Both would great, as long as they focus way more on actual games than they have been.

Cy2667d ago

@Cupid_Viper_3

The PS4 also doesn't charge you 400 dollars to watch Netflix, you pay for the games, everything else is secondary (regardless of how important it is). Same with VR. No one spent 400 dollars on PSVR to play a two hour Batman simulator and other similar "experiences". They bought it to play real games. And if PSVR (and VR in general) can't offer anything other than cool demos and an interesting physics puzzler or two, it's gonna be just another dead peripheral collecting dust in people's closets.

FunAndGun2667d ago

I did, I'm not trying to play a 40 hour game in VR. There are currently games on the market that are not demos and physics puzzlers so yes, PSVR has already offered what you claim it can't.

Fojie_012667d ago

I could not agree more. The short length of the games available means the experience is over far to quickly. Then the game of waiting begins

And thats what the bulk of them are and will be...experiences.

finally!, being waiting for this game since its announcement some years ago, so many objects on screen using physics running at 60 fps is always mesmerizing to see.

SullysCigar371d ago

Played the demo on PSVR2 - it's trippy as hell!

Knushwood Butt371d ago (Edited 371d ago )

Awesome. I had this on my PS wishlist and was going to buy it Day 1. Seen as I have Extra, now I don't need to!
PSVR2 support too.

Abnor_Mal371d ago

Platformers are not really my thing, but I guess I can try it out on PlusExtra. In VR2 to boot.

Finally! been badgering the devs on twitter for awhile now. Demo put me in a trance and i loved it.
