I'm Hoping 'Watch Dogs 2' Is The Game 'Watch Dogs' Should Have Been

Why ScreenGurus Shaun hopes Ubisoft's upcoming 'Watch Dogs 2' is everything the original outing wasn't.

I disagree that WD 'wasn't fun'. It was disappointing but I enjoyed it. I actually had a different expectation on how the next one could be improved. I wanted more believable characters, more believable story and more mature and realistic gameplay but it seems they are going the opposite direction.

Mostly because I despise Ubisoft and love to see them fail, but also because I hate stupid hacker "fight the power maaaan" stories and I want them to do poorly so people stop making games/movies/shows about them. Is this a reasonable response? Of course not. But I think I'm allowed to have one or two things I'm not reasonable about. Especially since my unreasonableness takes the form of wanting a video game company to go out of business and not burning down my own neighborhood or going on a killing spree.

I just don't understand kids like you why would you want a game or company to fail, that just hurts the industry as a whole, and down the line causes a chain reaction within the industry. Look I feel the first one wasn't very good either, but totally has some potential for the second one. Ubisoft has really lost their way as far as quality goes hopefully they can get back on track. If your upset with a developer don't buy the game, or wait a few months before you purchase a game so you can get some real world feedback. That's exactly what I'll do with WD2, wait and see.

Watch Dogs 2 is like the videogame version of that cheesy 90s "Hackers" movie with angelina jolie. At this point its actually kinda silly to compare this game to the first WD.

It's worse than that IMO. It's a rebellious teenage hipsters dream game. Some of the gameplay looks all right, but all of the characters are just so damn obnoxious from what I've seen.

They got it right on the second try with Assassin's Creed. ACII was easily one of the best games of the PS3/360 generation. Maybe they can make the magic happen with Watch Dogs 2!

Dude it won't be I mean just look at it, it looks a little better than the retail version of the first game. It absolutely doesn't look anywhere near as good as the first public unveiling vid shown at E3 for the first Watchdogs.

While it looks marginally better, what the focus seems to be for this one is refining and expanding the actual mechanics of the game. (which Ubi tends to do pretty well in the 1st couple of games in a new series) The first game, driving aside, was pretty solid mechanically. Hopefully, they dialed in the new stuff. I doubt it will become a new AC. But, it doesn't have to. It just needs to carve out it's own niche and deliver. We'll see how well it achieves that.

I still need to finish the 1st game before I even think about this one. I liked it and I didn't if that makes sense. This one looks a lot better and more polished(hopefully). Will pick it up down the line one day when its cheaper. I only by games day 1 if I REALLY like the series. If not, I wait a few weeks and, at least, and usually you can pick it up for $10 cheaper. Wait a month or two and it can be $20 to $30 cheaper. That's how I do it at least.
