The Division Graphics Comparison - PC vs Xbox One vs PS4

IGN:
A detailed look at the visual fidelity of The Division on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

IamTylerDurden13005d ago

The Division isn't as graphically impressive as they led on.

Army_of_Darkness3005d ago

I don't find this game at all appealing in any way... Way better choices out there.

Erik73573005d ago

Honestly they should be sued for just showing fake footage for EVERY game....its one thing to have one game downgraded but when its every game its pretty obvious your just doing that to make it look better at E3 for marketing then downgrade it when consumers buy it

ShinMaster3005d ago

The beta just wasn't fun.

Unspoken3004d ago (Edited 3004d ago )

After playing the beta I rewatched the trailers back to E3 2013 and noticed the game wasn't missing a ton of what they showed.

Aside from lighting, the destructible environments and tablet inclusion were the only discernable features I would want that were absent.

I think it's pretty well known that this game was going to look much different than it's previous showing.

I believe most people are surprised it looks as good as it does, whether that's a positive or negative for how many people will buy the game remains to be seen.

It's got my money, and I went into that beta as a graphics whore salty hater who wanted it to look like their E3 reveal.

IamTylerDurden13005d ago (Edited 3005d ago )

So it's acceptable that games like Rainbow 6S can look like real life in the e3 demo and then look last gen when they launch? The Division isn't as bad as Rainbow 6S but i still find it unnerving that Ubi is continuing with this. Didn't they file a lawsuit against Gearbox for Colonial Marines? A bs lawsuit against GG? Yet Ubi is the most egregious and we've come to accept it. I like Ubisoft but a spades a spade.

IamTylerDurden13005d ago (Edited 3005d ago )

You can't say all games get downgraded from e3. I'm sure Uncharted will look every bit as good, The Order, 2nd Son looked equally as good. Bloodborne improved.

LightofDarkness3005d ago

Uncharted 3 and TLOU were downgraded from their respective E3 reveals, in both cutscenes and gameplay. It's not beyond the realms of possibility.

http://www.gamespot.com/for...

Not starting a fight here, but it's not just Ubisoft. And they seem to be the only ones getting flak for it.

Ezz20133005d ago (Edited 3005d ago )

@iamtylerDurden1.

Agreed.

ColonelHugh3005d ago

Christ, LightofDarkness, how long have you been holding onto that Uncharted 3 post? That was debunked years ago as the comparison to the MULTIPLAYER build.

Uncharted 1 looks better than that.

Just about every industry does the same thing. Does a big mac look like it does in the commercials, does a frozen meal look like the picture, do movies sometimes have things in the trailer that don't appear in the movie, or show only the good parts to entice you? We should expect this by now. Remember back in the day when the box art for a game was awesome, but the game was awful...it's called advertising/marketing and we shouldn't be upset about it.

frostypants3005d ago

What game is?

Why didn't people put up this much of a stink when Witcher 3 was downgraded from PR shots?

LamerTamer3005d ago

They did don't you remember?

jonivtec3005d ago

Witcher 3 look good...but my brain refuse to stop thinking what it would have look like if it was a pc only game.Anyway....The division look great for me.The best game a play these years was not always the one with the absolute best visual...

SnotyTheRocket3005d ago

It's been THREE years. Get over it. It's a fun game.

My honest review of that video.

PC: Amazing.. like goddamn
PS4: Trying it's ass off to perform at a high level
XBox: Passable if you don't care, but overall meh

Will be purchasing this on PlayStation.

DarkOcelet3005d ago

They kinda look the same to be honest with PC sharper and all that.

MrDead3005d ago (Edited 3005d ago )

The Division on Xbox One uses dynamic resolution scaling to keep it chugging at 30fps. PS4 so far has been full 1080 at 30fps, it may use dynamic resolution in the full release but it hasn't shown in the beta.

But the important thing is they all play the same, and thats what matters.

UltraNova3005d ago

@Mr Dead

The performance of a beta this close to launch is usually what you get upon release. That said the game looks about the same on all 3 platforms with the PC pulling ahead on image sharpness and of course fps, eventually, provided you have a capable rig.

kraenk123005d ago

You wouldn't say that if you had seen it running on PC.

blawren43005d ago

There is not enough difference to matter or enhance/limit fun in any iteration. We focus way too much on graphics. I say buy on the system/controller you prefer.

IamTylerDurden13004d ago

We now know they're not the same.

YinYangGaming3005d ago

Why are you acting like there's a bigger disparity between the console versions that actually exists in this case? As someone who played the beta on both systems they're practically identical

kraenk123005d ago

The screen tearing on X1 alone would make me pass. Unacceptable this day and age.

Redgehammer3005d ago

I don't notice screen tearing unless I'm watching a game being played.

343_Guilty_Spark3005d ago

They look virtually identical. The colors look more realistic on the Xbox One. PlayStation consoles still have that strange blue like filter.

claudionmc3005d ago

It's X1 issue, not PS4... It is called contrast saturation (google it and try harder)

IamTylerDurden13005d ago

Usually the case with multiplats.

mark_parch3005d ago

xbox one and ps4 look exactly the same just like every other multiplate. pc version obviously better but not as much difference as I would have thought

zerocarnage3005d ago

It was prooven that the ps4 and xb1 version of the division are running equally the same, so don't come here trying to knock the other console because you got your fanboyism into gear..

MatriXcian3005d ago

Actually Digital Foundry just released a video proving the Xbox One has dynamic resolution and may drop to as low as 900p.

IamTylerDurden13004d ago

Xbone has dynamic resolution, not 1080p.

bleedsoe9mm3005d ago

i'll pass on the ps4 and play on xb1 graphics are identical and i get a more stable online experience with XBL

IamTylerDurden13004d ago

Xbone version isn't 1080p and has a worse fps.

frostypants3005d ago (Edited 3005d ago )

They all look fine to me. PC will have the FPS advantage. That's the big one.

That said I'll be PS4 also. Don't like these sorts of games on PC. Prefer knowing that everyone has the same basic control scheme, and the lower likelihood of hacks.

3005d ago
Bdub20003005d ago

What a trolling statement. The X1 version looked cleaner than the PS4 in my opinion. It may be someone else's opinion that PS4 looks better, and that's fine with me. But to say that the Ps4 looks high level, but X1 is "Meh", that's just trolling.

Azzanation3004d ago

Thats odd, Console versions look and play the same and the PC version looks far better. If you have a gaming rig, get this game on PC, if your going to get it on PS4 then there's no difference in getting the X1 version either. Infact if you want the extra Rumbles Triggers then actually the X1 version is better then the PS4 version.

AudioEppa3004d ago

No rig and I only play on PlayStation.

Maybe my eyes are fcked, but I see a difference lol I'll watch it again

Azzanation3004d ago

If you see a difference between the X1 and PS4 version then the PC version is going to blow you away.

kickerz3005d ago

Honestly can't spot much of a difference.

SynestheticRoar3005d ago

nowitzki20043005d ago

I am in absolute agreement with the OP 👌

shinoff2183384d ago

I hate when I see single player games and see people begging for multi-player. Jeez guys it don't need to be on every game. Latest one I seen was atomic heart.

-Foxtrot384d ago

Multiplayer or even co-op

If it was always a single player game then that's how it is

Inverno383d ago

It's a trend that never really went away. For me multiplayer in a primarily SP focused game was an excuse for DLC. Then there's the mentality gamers had that adding multiplayer makes a game worth the price, otherwise it should be half price for half a game. A way of thinking devs reassured when they started adding multiplayer to their sequels. We see the same with multiplayer focused games getting SP in their sequels.

Flawlessmic383d ago

Tbh multilayer now is a way to add live service and mtx elements, very rarely does it come of well.

What single players game used to be in a lot of cases now require 3 other people for keeping to really enjoy it and I hate having to rely on others to get the maximum from a game.

Sp should be sp, if devs want to add a separate multi mode then that's fine with me, the legends addition to ghost of tshushima was fricking sick but totally separate to the main game. Sick of co op too.

Hofstaderman383d ago

I remember when certain single player games had them as included optional modes that was played on the couch. Had brilliant times with Syphon Filter and Golden Eye. Me and my bro used to used to fight over who would play as Gabe even though it was technically just a skin. Good times.

Dagexon383d ago

I didn't notice your comment before I added mine.
But good times indeed
