PS4 Was the Highest Earning Product at Best Buy on Black Friday According to Research Firm

Market research firm Infoscout published its list of top sellers and highest earning products by retailer for Black Friday, and looks like the PS4 was the product that earned the most at Best Buy.

There's is no reason why people should still be stuck on last gen. Both next generation consoles were really cheap and amazing deals were available. Sony handled Black Friday fantastically this year with the $299 Uncharted Collection PS4 bundle. Last year they did far too little, but the money they have made from the PS4 now allows them to do these great deals.

I know a lot of new PS4 buyers are very excited about the big 2016 line-up Sony has planned.

yea man!!! It seems Sony will start getting their ball rolling with exclusives next yr like last gen when they had a plethora of exclusives dropping through out the yrs. Next week we have Psx which should be something. Hopefully we get a look at the upcoming Sony bend game that takes place in a post apocalyptic world. Crossing my fingers for a new crash =3. On top of that they got PSVR releasing next yr and hopefully there's rich content to make the hardware shine. All in all Sony have done a tremendous job this gen.

Yes, this year they actually competed with MS. Past year MS won because it was cheaper. X1 was $329 last year and people always look at prices on Black Friday. With the price the same this year, Sony actually tried and didn't make it so easy for MS.

I went out to 2 Walmarts and Best Buy and I can say that I seen a lot of people buying PS4s. If fact that's all I seen but to be fair I wasn't out for too long but that was just my observation when walking around the store and standing in lines.

But I'm sure X1 did fine as well and it will be interesting to see the official numbers this year. More importantly, I'm just glad both companies are doing well because this competition reminds me of the old days with Sega and Nintendo. I mean both companies are selling these machines with games and all kind of other perks which makes it seem that your buying the console for dirt cheap. It's a great time to be a gamer!!!

Most importantly, I got a new 60in 4k TV and I love it. I have 2 high def tvs now but one is 10 years old and the other is about 15. Wow, what a big difference and it almost seems like what I'm watching is fake cuz it looks so good. Happy gaming and new TV watching people... Console gaming is dead remember... Lol. Lets keep the movement going......

Where did you get the third selling device in America from? All weekend I saw a PS bundle sitting at number one on Amazon, and they had several others floating in the top 10. I saw MS have one bundle that floated between 3-7. I was looking every few hours due to the lightning deals(which were disappointing).

Now, if BB and Amazon both had them in their top spots, then it seems that that makes up a pretty significant number, and that's likely to be reflected across other retailers as well...unless of course GameStop simply outsold both these retailers combined and had massive X1 sales...which seems unlikely since they weren't really pushing X1 over PS4 this year in their ads.

I mean if GS comes out tomorrow and says that the PS4 had the best sales then where exactly are people buying their X1's from? Or is it all digital sales again...since that's where all the software sales apparently are on the X1./s

Anyhow, all reasoning aside, please link where X1 was the 3rd selling device this weekend. Seems there are a lot of other products which would take that spot away from either of the consoles.

The problem with that is you just straight up miss some games like MAG, Resistance, and socom you just cant play online anymore.

Other games you will miss there golden years and be left trying to play in a ghost town.

But if all you play is single player it's fine (Although even games like Demons Souls now need online to get the full experience)

In the UK the XBO has had a major price drop. Amazon is selling the XBO Ori bundle for the same price as the Wii U Premium Mario Kart bundle. £25 cheaper than the PS4 deals, so I think this could lead to them 'winning' Black Friday. Of course one day is not the whole picture.

You can side load APK's onto the tablet..so not having the Google play store is not really a hindrance, that's the great thing about Android OS even forked version's of the OS. Such as the good one Amazon use.

Halo 5 - Microsoft's biggest Xbox One exclusive that will likely EVER be - underperformed, and PS4 is still outpacing the Xbox One this holiday season worldwide. Like Spotie said, what does Xbox have in the pipeline that can make it compete with an exclusive Street Fighter, Uncharted, Gran Turismo and the potential excitement surrounding the release of a brand new peripheral and a new way to play on their console, particularly if it has games like No Man's Sky representing it?

Zombies? Trying reading your own comments. Nobody mentioned Xbone won't have heavy hitters next year. PS4 simply has more of them and those that will create a stronger impact on consumers. There are some "niche" Japanese games on PS4 next year that will probably hit harder than a lot of Xbone's lineup. That's just how it is and that moment is going to last until the end of the generation. Your "moment" is when Microsoft wins one or two NPD months a year, by a couple of hundred thousand units.

Well, not really the same as I recalled, last year, the main bundle was the AC Unity bundle for the XB1 and the PS4 has the TLOU bundle. This year, both MS and Sony have several Skus and according to the current Best Buy Best videogame sellers list, here are the breakdown of the different consoles in order.

But anyhow, I expect all consoles to do great this holidays and that is all good news regardless of who finish first on NPD.

The article CLEARLY indicated that the Uncharted 4 500GB PS4 Sku was the best selling item in terms of a small sample size of about 150,000 receipts uploaded on apps on black Friday and NOT the accumulated total of ALL PS4 SKUs sold. That is how the article was stated. It only counted one Sku's total and NOT every PS4 or XB1.

Example, if the Uncharted bundle total was $400,000 in total, but the Xbox 8 different Skus sales are say $200,000, $150,000, $100,000, $80,000, $60,000, ,$50,000, ,$35,000, $25,000, which one do you think sold more? It is not rocket science and I think you owed Fatdrinkofwater an apology and a 6 pack of Corona for being so rude and so incorrect at the same time.

If Ford releases 1 car, and Chevy releases 5 cars, and Ford sold the most cars, then Ford's 1 car sold more TOTAL than Chevy's 5 cars. Chevy may have 5 cars, but the most sold cars were through Ford.

So if PS4 is the highest selling product, it doesn't matter if XBox has 30 different SKUs because PS4 still outsold XBox. Make sense yet?

By the same token, the same UC bundle sat at number one at Amazon all weekend without moving. There was only one Xbox one bundle that stayed there the whole time(GeOW one), and occasionally one crept in at number 10. For most of the weekend, there were 3-4 PS4 bundles within Amazon's top ten.

Otherwise, using the statistical data provided by this particular article, it just means the PS4 UC bundle outsold all those other bundles but I guess makes no mention of overall sales.

Not that it really matters. I'd imagine Monday or Tuesday we'll hear at least one of the console manufacturers claim victory this weekend. Then we can start this whole debate anew with the same tired and meaningless arguments. But it's late and I'm bored and can't sleep.

I went into Best Buy on BF to buy NBA2K16 and couldn't get the Xbox One version, so I had to get the game on the PS4. I saw piles of Uncharted PS4s, and fewer Xbox One consoles. Parts of the Xbox One games section was also cleaned off, but the PS4 section was normally stocked with discounted games.

That is not at all how my Best Buy looks, plus I still saw plenty of Star Wars PS4s. Figured that thing would fly off the shelves in no time, but guess not. I can get a photo proof the next time I care to go into Best Buy. Not that I will be going out of my way just for it...

Funny, I went to my local super market, and they were out of my normal honey wheat bread I buy, so it's pretty apparent based on that that the PS4 outsold the X1 this weekend.

Seriously though? A whole section of games for one platform just cleared out? These stores keep 30-40 copies of a game in stock for big sale days, and any popular game is probably going to have a couple hundred in stock over black friday weekend. They also have a fairly robust inventory transfer system to get stock to where it will sell.

Now, while it's likely a crap ton of games sold this weekend, the chance that that many games sold out is next to nill unless they have very little floor space dedicated to that system, and it's more likely they had a game display filled with games close to where the console was set up on pallets in the aisles.

Christ, at any given time, a single GameStop may have 500 new games in stock, and they wouldn't even sell out of most of a section of games.

You're story may be easier to take seriously if you weren't always taking shots at PS4. I also wouldn't use what you saw as representative, since they'll pull out new pallets when available if the first one sells out, so it's possible, if you're not just making stuff up, that they simply already sold through the first pallet. I wouldn't doubt that some games were sold out, but I find it hard to believe that also wouldn't be true for the Sony section as well. Software was pretty popular this weekend, and that's pretty normal for when console sales are high.

In other words, anecdotal evidence is mostly useless, because one instance does not really denote a trend. Even using these sites top ten lists isn't completely telling, and at best it can be used to extrapolate a possibility.

And no, you shouldn't always take me at my word, but I try to provide enough information to back up my statements, whether others want to take that, look up the validity of it, and use it to form their opinion is entirely on them. I would prefer people be cynical of my comments and verify the information on their own to either see if I'm right, or correct me when I'm wrong instead of just sticking to their guns with their arguments which I've already addressed...but hey, I don't expect it, and the times are rare when people actually bother to provide verifiable counter-arguments to my own opinions.

I have admitted my bias and don't care if people like to try to use it to "expose" me. Gangsta and his friends try and hide the bias and fanboyism, and that is what I find most intriguing. Honestly, why should we be listening to frauds?

I guess Gangsta much rather ignores even provided proof these days, and would rather give his friends a pat on the back for not providing evidence, yet digging into Sony fans that don't necessarily do the same thing. I really don't care what they think of me, or what they try to lob at me. More often than not, I will try to address a comment on it's own merits, but with some people, they do have histories of always staying to one side regardless of anything presented in opposition to their arguments.

Personally, if someone presents an argument as a fact, I consider it dubious until I can verify it in some way, or at least logically deduce that it is probably correct. I'm skeptical of every comment on matters I'm not familiar with, and I know how to use Google well enough to find information. It's not terribly hard, but sometimes it can be a pain to wade through the fan boy filler which seems to flood the search engines as well.

If people choose to believe something without checking their facts that's really on them, and to me, I find it rather silly to not care about having a mind to know the truth. I have no problem being proven wrong with some kind of facts, and I have no problem having my opinion changed on a subject due to logical reasons, but magician has yet to do that, and while gangsta does have his moments of rational thougts and comments, they don't last long.

I can often make contrary arguments on a single subject just because I am capable of changing my view on something when presented with new information or lines of thought. I don't think that makes me a hypocrite, I think it makes me an intelligent thinker.

Thing is, I don't hate the Xbox brand. I'm not a big fan of MS corporate policies and things they do within the industry at times, but I give them credit where it's deserved, and feel it just as important to point out their good things when presented by fans of my preferred console, not to be fair, but to keep the positive things in the right place. It may seem like I defend Sony more, but that's because often times, these comments come out in articles that I'm hanging out more in...PS related for instance.

People can live in their own bubble if they want. If they want to try and put me down because I don't agree with them, then so be it. I can handle myself. I feel them not caring about being informed on a subject is more harmful to them, and unfortunately, others have to suffer through their inability to think beyond a console brand.

Just picked up my Battlefront PS4 bundle. Love it. Psn was off and on last night, while I was trying to set it up, but it finally got stable so o could finish the setup. Xbox1 and ps4 in living room, the Wiiu and the rest of my retro systems are in the gameroom.

Well Microsoft is giving it a good try with all the different bundles they are offering but systems are selling systems right now because there's not to many system selling games out right now. So the better system is gonna sell more. Sony appears to have the better console, Microsoft maxe sure of that with the fiasco of a first year they had and that image is lasting to consumers, especially consumers who know something about video games. There are probably more converts from xbox to playstation than could be anticipated and it doesn't seem to be slowing down. I will eventually have both consoles but this gen Sony convinced me to get a ps4 when i just new it would be xbox one like the 360 last gen. I think that's happening alot.

I play PS4 more than my Xbox One, but after the release of the "New Xbox Experience", I was really hoping Xbox would be #1 this holiday, because as long as Sony stays ahead of Microsoft, free backwards compatibility will never happen on Playstation. Sony has no reason to change anything for the better.
