Assassin’s Creed Syndicate Microtransactions Are ‘Optional’ But Fans Still Feel Frustrated

J Station X: Ubisoft details their Assassin's Creed Syndicate microtransaction plans, but after the mess of Assassin's Creed Unity, fans feels frustrated and betrayed.

I'm not sure how this is news now. They did it in Black Flag, they did it in Unity and they said they were doing it in Syndicate, back in May. I could probably find a thread like this from May. It's stupidely easy to make money in 4 and Unity, so I don't expect a change in that. Meh.

Just wait for the inevitable UbiSoft price drop. It will be $30 about 3-4 weeks after release but I'm all digital and will have to wait 4-6 months.

In the end no one else to blame but ourselves, we kept buying the micro transactions so the companies continue to rip us off.

What's the big deal? People constantly bitch about microtransactions but I've never felt the need OR obligation to purchase them. Take Dead Space 3, people went in hard on the game and its microtransactions system yet you never EVER have to buy anything they're pushing to complete the game. While I'm not crazy about the idea, it's not like it's being forced on me. I have more of a problem with it when it's a game like Candy Crush Saga or even worse, that Frozen puzzle game on the XB1 that's a blatant cash grab. Get a grip, peeps.

Why do single player microtransactions make people so angry? If someone wants to pay $2 so they can fully upgrade the Jackdaw before acquiring the diving bell in sequence 7, how does that effect your enjoyment of the game?

It doesn't. I've never heard a single good or convincing argument against it. People just don't like to feel like they're not getting everything. Even though they know what they are buying when they make the purchase.
