Microsoft Executive On No Man's Sky, Games At E3 And The Controversial Xbox One Parity Clause

No Man's Sky is one of the most anticipated indie games of 2015. Scheduled to launch on PlayStation 4 and PC sometime this year, the game will not be coming on the Xbox One.

It will come to Xbox in time. Guaranteed.

SoapShoes3314d ago

Not if Sony secures it like they did other indie titles. We don't know.

RiseofScorpio3314d ago

Its coming to PC that's something Sony wouldn't let happen just like Resogun. Hello games doesn't want to sell off their IP I'm sure.

u4one3314d ago

coming to pc as well. sony probably wouldn't let that happen if they did.. hence no bloodborne, driveclub and the order etc not being available for pc either.

NuggetsOfGod3314d ago (Edited 3314d ago )

Ugh... star citizen please!!! I have a pc and don't even want no man's sky.

A game that devs are scared to talk about lol

I rather have a multi crew star trek cinematic experience in an open world.

No man's just looks like a mindecrafty experience. No thanks if so.

To the debate above, Street fighter V is coming to the PC also but will not be on the XB1. There is no way to know if NMS will or will not be on the XB1 at this time anything we say is simply speculation.

Docknoss3313d ago

Sony doesn't have the money to keep studios open let alone keep Microsoft from getting the game.

It'll come for sure. in the meantime we have elite dangerous! :)

uptownsoul3314d ago (Edited 3314d ago )

Elite Dangerous has already been confirmed to be heading to PS4 according to Frontier boss David Braben's tweet: http://www.vg247.com/2015/0...

ThinkThink3314d ago

Glad to hear that MS and PS owners will get to play both on their consoles. That's great!

Lore3314d ago

"We" have elite dangerous

What does that even mean. People need to get a grip

Moldiver3314d ago

@uptownsoul

I already knew about that. Ps4 owners will probably waiting about as long to play elite as X1 owners, no mans sky.

"ThinkThink + 1h ago
Glad to hear that MS and PS owners will get to play both on their consoles. That's great!"

Yeah..You're speaking my language bro! In the end we (xbox,PC or PS4) all get to enjoy these games at some point. The two titles are comparable in certain aspects. As for me. I just love my space games. Ill be playing elite AND no mans sky this year, which is cool.

@Lore
"What does that even mean. People need to get a grip"

Talk about sensitive.lol.. You misread my comment for your own reasons. Thats your business. Im said what I said and only think think, understood it clearly, because he doesnt have some weird defense mechanism going on. Because he is not a fanboy.

sinspirit
"It's already confirmed a console exclusive."

They said console DEBUT. That means timed exclusivity in laymen terms. There is a reason for that choice of words.

"Hello Games has greatly expressed their gratitude for Sony and how they are the reason they are where they're at today."

They got where they are because they have a promising game on their hands. That was the case the moment we all saw it. BEFORE they got into bed with sony. For a DEBUT. You are really having a hard time with this aint you? Sony get credit for beating MS to the deal. That is all. Those two guys put themselves on the map.

"There is nothing confirmed, except the fact it's almost 100% confirmed PlayStation and PC only"

Thats usually the way it works with this sort of deal. have you learned nothing from those timed X360 exclusives last gen?

The game IS coming to XB1 and it will happen within weeks if not months of a PC release. And it will be a port of the PC version. Remember I said this. Bookmark this comment if you like. But mark my word...its coming to X1.

Philaroni3314d ago

I think it will as well. I have no problem with games being timed exclusive. There are quite a few pros for doing so. Indy games in general it tends to get them *ALOT* of media attention which is hard for them to do at times with out a publisher paying/backing them. As long as it comes out on other platforms later a lot of people win. Some will say the gamer's don't but why? Because you have to wait? In the end its the best hybrid way of doing things now days. As in the best balance between the business itself and what the consumers get.

AngelicIceDiamond3314d ago

Any logical person can understand this.

Games like these or indie games in general usually end up on other platforms. They wanna get this game out to as many people as possible at the end of the day.

Elite Dangerous and Space engineers are guaranteed timed games.

So logically No Man's Sky will release on X1 in the future.

Lenrulesdaworld3314d ago (Edited 3314d ago )

I agree ice, i'll try to reach out to hello games and see if they would come on to talk about the game. Chris made it seem though as if, it will be coming to xbox at some point. I asked about axiom verge as well after the recording, think they are working out something to bring that and transistor to xbox one.

s45gr323313d ago

I am not sure if elite dangerous makes it to consoles. and. bloody space engineers still in early access. The damn developer is making another early access title called.medieval engineers. So the chances of these games on console are rather slim; however, killing floor 2 will make it to PS4 along with Among the sleep, and distance.

Spotie3314d ago

What, exactly, convinces you strongly enough to guarantee that statement?

Lenrulesdaworld3314d ago

well what I can say is that, usually if a game is truly exclusive, companies and execs know. They usually keep this to themselves and let the company announce when it will release. But what from what I understand, it's not an exclusive is truly up to hello games. If they want the game on xbox one, not sony. So unless they buy the ip or the company, xbox fans may see it hit the xbox one later. But in the meantime elite dangerous will be timed exclusive, which should hold it down for fans of the space shooter genre.

harrisk9543314d ago

There is absolutely nothing to indicate that it is coming to XB1 ever. It may, but so far there has been not even a hint of it. So, good luck with waiting.

showtimefolks3314d ago

look i am fine and hope in 3 months its on xbox one, so xbox gamers can enjoy it too. Just like i hope tomb raider is on ps4 soon after release

being exclusives doesn't provide us any incentive or extra pleasure out of the game

we are a gaming community so let's think and look out for each other instead of being spoiled little kids who says nananannanana

Muzikguy3314d ago

Gamingbolt?! >_<

Yo no leo esa mierda

otherZinc3314d ago

I don't give 1 s***! If No Man's Sky even released or not! I didn't buy into Next-gen for games like that. That's a $10 filler game when you're in between AAA Great 1080p 60fps games!

Inzo3314d ago

Not if Sony signed a publishing deal.

Yawn...been down this news road already. Gaming bolt pulling others interviews for their own news, now that's cutting edge!

GutZ313314d ago

Yeah man! they are so good at cutting stories up to make them in to multi click articles so we can all feel like we didn't already read the whole story 5 articles ago!

/s

ChrisChambers3314d ago

I like this site (n4g) because it allows me to get almost all my gaming info in one spot, but damn I hate some of the sites that flood this one with garbage articles and the sensational headlines.

"Mindblowing, Earth Shattering, Fantastic!!! AND MORE!!!"...then you click on the article and its a single tweet that some clown somehow turned into half a paragraph spread out on 9 pages of speculation and "take this with a grain of salt" BS. Or the classic move of writing 20 articles a day on the same game instead of putting all that info in a single article.

Really wish I had the option to block them from showing up on the feed

Khajiit863314d ago

They feed this fan war, and we feed them and their families.

I am sure they literally sit back and enjoy all the craziness their articles cause.

Joe9133314d ago

I wonder if Devs can get past this by releasing a game on xbox with a new character or ship then once it is on the console can they later offer that item as free dlc on PlayStation console. I guess they would have to sign something that says this item will never be released on another platform.

OC_MurphysLaw3314d ago

Sure ...I would also imagine it depends on "what" it is. Shovel Knights is including the Battle Toads as a boss...that will only be in the X1 version. I believe the Sony version has Kratos if I am not mistaken. That content would never go to either competitor.

ScorpiusX3314d ago (Edited 3314d ago )

This Clause thing is a non issue, if those making a game would just talk to those at ID@XBOX instead of trying to drum up sympathy . As for the NMS Game looks nice but not waiting around .

ThinkThink3314d ago

Trying to drum up sympathy is a great way to get people talking about your game though. Yeah, it's a little sleazy but when you're an independent developer anything you can do to get people talking about your game is a good thing.

NeoGamer2323314d ago

I don't understand the disagrees with your post...

Fact: Chara keeps telling devs to talk to MS if they have a concern.

Fact: There has been PS4 games come to XB1 later.

Fact: Negotiating whether as a third party or indie dev through the media is bargaining in bad faith. you have a problem, deal with who you have the problem with. Do not proxy through the media.

kstap333314d ago

I just want to know more about this game. They talked tech, but not gameplay. What is the premise? Hopefully you can do something fun on all these procedurally generated planets.

BitbyDeath3314d ago (Edited 3314d ago )

What's not to get? You fly a ship and you shoot at your enemies. Bang bang.

You want to change that Bang bang into more of a boom then you mine for materials and upgrade your guns.

You survive long enough you journey to the center of the universe to discover... the end credits?

The 10 PSVR 2 Games You Should Own

If you're wanting more PSVR 2 support, you should probably buy all of these games.

Speak with your wallet!

Profchaos38d ago

Bit rich to have to buy games you don't want because you want Sony to support the expensive headset they sold us which cost as much as the console it runs on beyond paying third partys to support it.
Seriously in terms of first party we have horizon on day 1 and a gt 7 vr mode.

They seemingly have made little effort to support it beyond paying Capcom to make re games in VR or a second party studio to make firewall which was mismanaged.

I'm a day 1 psvr2 user and the only thing I'm excited for right now is PC support.

I commented recently this bespoke VR game development model we have right now clearly doesn't work

crazyCoconuts38d ago

On the one hand I feel like there's been plenty of smaller non-AAA games to play and occupy me as a supplement to my flat screen gaming.
But I agree that Sony has done nothing to elevate this beyond the niche it's in and into the mainstream where it would be economical to create AAA games for it.

Babadook738d ago (Edited 38d ago )

Most of these games are worth owning for most people; I own all but 2 of them in fact. So I agree with kevco33. I think you're crazy if you downplay this list quite frankly. Sony can't keep funding software if people don't buy any of it, the ball is squarely in OUR court.

Sony has spent a lot on 3rd party stuff this gen like RE.

phoenixwing38d ago (Edited 38d ago )

Saving up for the headset is my first hurdle. Let alone buying games I don't want lol

mudakoshaka38d ago

People downvoting you for not having enough finances...what a world we live in, haha

phoenixwing38d ago (Edited 38d ago )

@mudako
They feel affronted at the very thought that I don't plunk down 500 immediately lol I have a little over 900 games in my backlog I've been buying games instead of hardware ever since I got my PC and ps5. I just don't know if vr is really for me honestly. Every time I have a couple hundred allocated to video games it makes more sense to buy a bunch of flat games instead of vr ones

mudakoshaka38d ago

I have 9 out of these 10 games. I try to buy all the VR games I like to support the advancement of VR!

TheEroica37d ago (Edited 37d ago )

I spoke with my wallet after watching the first headset get weak support. Easy pass until Sony earns my money. Feel bad for those who parted with 500 bucks, falling for the hype that Sony was actually gonna support this thing.

Neonridr38d ago

I own 7 of these titles off the list, lol.

NotoriousWhiz38d ago

I'm trying to decide if it's worth holding onto my psvr 2. I enjoy what it has currently, but it seems unlikely to get anything else. Might be better off just waiting for something with more support if that ever comes.

Profchaos38d ago

As a fellow psvr2 owner the question seemingly comes down to do you own a PC.

I think I'm all in I have a habit to hold onto my systems anyhow I still have my psvr1 to hell I still have my NES.

But while it's still worth something yeah you could sell it and if Sony turns the ship around you should be able to buy another one for less than you soldmit for I feel like we won't see any fix for the headset for the next 2 years rumours show that Sony has no current first party VR games in active development after they closed London studios

The whole psvr2 situation has left me feeling a little burnt on PlayStation as a whole to be honest. The first psvr felt experimental but it was supported far more than this superior headset

MIDGETonSTILTS1738d ago

GT7 surprised me, because I hate racing games, but i poured 100 hours into it way too quickly.

I’m looking forward to the Metro VR game this year, and I hope that WW2 dogfighter game releases eventually.

talocaca38d ago

I have most of them 😅

Waiting for a sale on Synapse and Arizona Sunshine 2.....also Metro coming this year looks great.
