You’ll be surprised how few gamers actually finished Alien: Isolation – Was the game too well made?

Alien: Isolation is a fantastic game. Creative Assembly managed to craft such an atmospheric and believable environment onboard Nostromo that actually might be too tense and unbearable. The claustrophobic interiors of the iconic mining vessel together with the constant threat from the xenomorph and androids will make you truly terrified at times.

It was a combination of how anxiety inducing it was, along with just how lengthy the campaign is. It's a pretty dang long game, and it gets really tense and hard near the end!

I love when games give me that "should I keep playing" feeling when I reach a checkpoint.

Now that isn't how I want ALL of my games to be, but I appreciate it when I am up for it(lol).

I want these guys to get another shot, as they already made the best Alien game, in their first attempt. *imo I mean*

This, and Batman, are what licensed games should be, imo.

Snookies123396d ago (Edited 3396d ago )

This, Batman, and South Park were all amazing licensed games. I certainly think it's the best Alien game ever made. It nailed the Alien itself, regardless of what people think about any other aspect of the game. That thing is unpredictable and aggressive. Just as it should be...

ThunderPulse3395d ago

South Park was an awesome game too!

LOL_WUT3395d ago

I'm not going to lie I haven't finished it stuck in level 5 it was just to much to the point I didn't even want to move. I will get back to it to finish it eventually so far the experience has been incredible ;)

FullmetalRoyale3396d ago (Edited 3396d ago )

Yes. Can I outsmart the alien? How can I, when he doesn't behave like I would?

I can't.

You hit the nail on the head, my friend. In other games you know that if the little icon isn't full, you are *safe.

Not in Alien. ;)

Merrill3396d ago

Finish it, I got the platinum trophy. Fucking awesome game.

Letthewookiewin3396d ago

Dam congrats man, I only got to about 60% of the trophies and beat it on easy. Excellent game! Don't think I'd try it on a harder difficulty.

3-4-53396d ago

Not the type of games I'd usually play but it seems interesting enough.

I'll definitely try it out when I can get it for $20.

BC_Master_Haze3395d ago

Completely worth it. I hope they add Morpheus/Oculus support after consumer versions launch, it's a game deserving of VR.

CorndogBurglar3395d ago

I got it for $30 during the big Halloween sale. I still haven't played it, but i will soon.

I love survival horror, so i really don't have an excuse for not playing it yet.

Makasu3395d ago

I can't wait to see what they can do with Aliens!

ArchangelMike3395d ago

The Game is loooong, maybe even too long. But that's a testament to how persistent the sense of tension is. Great game. I completed it the first time round. I'm hoping for a price cut in the Season Pass so I cqn play some of the challenge rooms and other levels.

I'm not sure I'd play the campaign again though...

sanosukegtr1233395d ago

I got the game last year & i still haven't beaten it yet. i'm probably like 50%.

proud to be one of those 15 :P! really great game, and got a long campaign too. took me around 20 hours to finish it (playing slowly and exploring every corner of the game). I loved the atmosphere last time i had such a great survival horror game must be Outlast and deadspace ( 1+2).

Makasu3395d ago

Makes you wonder, but maybe a lot of people are still playing it, it's just taking a long time to finish it because of the hostile environment?

BC_Master_Haze3395d ago

Yeah some levels it was heart pumping suspense for about an hour with me, I had to get by a group of enemies and I couldn't, I would start, they would counter, I would go back somewhere else. Never have I felt so cornered in my life, trapped in a vent between two things that want to kill me with no recognisable AI path.

mike32UK3396d ago

Easily my game of the year for 2014, more than got my money worth. It took me around 2 months to complete for numerous reasons. 1. I played on the hardest setting 2. It's damn long! 3. I'd have rest periods off 2 or 3 days instead of playing it to death like I do most other games. This was mostly because it's so draining playing the game (its that immersive and involving!), because you constantly have a sense of fear lingering whilst playing haha

twiggytree123396d ago

I love this game!! completely fine with the length...

Makasu3395d ago

Totally agree, I'm half way myself and I'm loving it!

tbh it doesn’t need a sequel. Fantastic game but not something to make into a long running series.

Good month imo. I'll play Gotham Knights and House of Ashes. I'm finishing up Disco E on Steam right now - that's a superb game.

cthulhucultist214d ago

House of Ashes was weird but one of the good weird ones! Really enjoyed it
