PSGamer: While the PS4 finished 2014 in a lull, coming under heavy fire from the Xbox One’s insane price cuts, Sony’s current-gen console is kicking off 2015 in style and is keeping up the heat all year long. Sony have managed to secure exclusive content for some of this years biggest multi-platform games like Arkham Knight and Mad Max but it is the immense list of 70 PS4 console exclusives (games which are not coming to the Xbox One or the Wii U) which are going to be the main selling point in 2015 – and each and every single one of them is here in this post, alongside their most recent trailers, release dates and descriptions.

That's all that some of the Xbox fans can come up with when faced with the reality that the PS4 will have 3 times the number of games, more console exclusives, and more AAA exclusives for 2015. All they can do is belittle indies and hope that the PS4's exclusives flop. How many titles that came out exclusively for the Xbox One were "game of the year" quality? There were plenty of titles released on the PS4 that were noted for their quality, indie and AAA:

How many must-have PS4 exclusives are there for somebody like me that owns a PC and a PS4? I'm talking about games I won't be able to play on my PC, which is my preferred gaming platform. I'm looking forward to The Order 1886 and Uncharted 5, and I'm sure there are a few others, but certainly not anywhere close to 70.

Looks like there are quite a few different Genres that will please just about everyone. Of course it should go without saying that you should check the Genres you like and then checkout the reviews.

Personally I like RPG's and because most of these type of games can be huge taking 30 hours or more and sometimes in the 100+ hours I normally limit myself to a couple a year so I can be very picky. With this years line up I am going to have to be very picky although "Bloodborne" is definitely at the top of my list.

There is "Dragon Quest Heroes" which is basically "Dynasty Warriors" however I don't think think I will be getting this game. Now a Dragon Quest RPG and as you have said Ys are two games I would be interested in.

Even if Skyrim was released for the PS4 with those annoying bugs fixed (on the PS3 around 6MB ~ 7MB game save you can get freezes and some slowdown) I would be interested. Of course an Elder Scrolls VI game (not an MMO which I don't like) would be almost a day one purchase for me then basically no more games for quite sometime.

It does depend on your game Genres preferences. If you like shooters with an on-line capability and have access to a reasonable internet then you could spend quite a considerable amount of time on the game.

Likewise RPG styles of games with or without on-line can be an enormous time-sink with on-line (not my preference) taking up most of your time.

As for plat-formers. This is a mixed bag taking 10 to 30+ hours depending on the game.

Sports and racing games which are not of any interest to me can take anything from a few hours to many many hours of game-play.

Some people like short games and that is fine but IMHO it can get expensive if you want to keep getting the latest game of that type. It all boils down to what game Genres you like and how much time you want to devote to that game.

Of those 70 games there are probably only 5 to 10 I am interested in. For other people there may be more or less then 5 which when you think about it there are quite a few different Genres which should appeal to just about everyone.

For people interested in short games then your wallet is going to feel the pain, however if you like games which take a long time to play (RPG's and some Action/Adventure) then only a few games out of that list will be of interest to you and you can afford to be very picky.

From 70 games in the list i counted 28 games that i want to buy. But the list didn't have Ys, Yakuza 0, Deception 4, and some japanese games that i really interested to buy.

To make it simple, i want to buy 30-40 exclusive games + mutiplats like Phantom Pain, Arkham Knight, Mirror's Edge 2, etc, which a total maybe...50-60 games and that's only PS4. I also have my own list of vita, PS3, and 3DS games that i want to buy.

Well not really. Those games have different genre and their own market. If sony can manage a good release date and good advertise for those games than they can avoid low sales.

As far as WatchDogs and Destiny are concerned there just bad games not broken, on console at least and why is it that when anyone has an opinion against indies there is always someone bashing it... sure indies are great but in moderation but what makes them so unique and quite frankly independent (indie) games is because there less popular and small in scale and budget. Come to an agreement about what they are or you can all continue arguing semantics without trying to find common ground until the end of gaming.

And definitions are different for different people. Hell, Philosophy has a ton of different world views and yet everyone's looking at the same world. Depending on where you stand and how you look at the world, you can get something completely different out of it than someone else, same with almost anything else including the nature of "exclusives" and "multiplats". So it's likely that there will never be an agreement because the definition can be completely different for some people.

The real problem is when people change their definitions between consoles. Either keep your view consistent or admit your biases are clouding your view, and people on all sides of "the console wars" do this.

That's my point, people bitched about X1's games and how exclusive they were... these are the same people who are now here defending the whole definition of exclusivity right now in favor of PS4. I'm gonna buy most of these games on my PS4 instead of PC and greatly value getting these games on my console rather than my PC just like I did getting Titanfall or DR3 on my X1 instead of PC. I'm a console gamer so I prefer getting my games on console rather than PC, I only get PC games if there only available to that platform, it's an RTS or there is a lot of mods for a game like Skyrim or GTA. It's the whole double standard thing that annoys me...

btw it's not my bias clouding my judgement, I haven't changed by definition at all for the sake of this article. I was just pointing out how the standards are different when it's talking about X1's exclusive games. I count all these games in the article as exclusive to the console on PS4 but expect the same for any X1 game like Tomb Raider or Titanfall or any id@xbox game.

There are a few others but I'm not going to bother listing them, because there is a very high probability they will turn out to be flops.

Oh, I'm not here to be part of this broken community. I'm here to bash some sense in the people that do still have any brain left to not blindly support anything that comes their way.

Oh, I'm excited for some PS4 releases, trust me. I'm actually waiting for Until Dawn, despite hating the living hell out of Beyond Two Souls which was garbage (but once again defended until death on N4G). I'm also quite excited to play Mortal Kombat X, Wild, Hellblade, The Assembly, Doom, Rainbow Six, Resident Evil, Silent Hills and FFXV. Most of these games are not guaranteed to be good. I can definitely with a straight face say now that most of these games will turn out quite bad. Final Fantasy, for example, as utterly hyped as it is, I cannot help but feel it will flop upon release.

I am not going to sell my PS4, but I definitely am not going to blindly call it a "victor" of some sorts. The ONLY "victory" the PS4 has achieved so far is in selling the most units of the three, which was, by the way, completely unwarranted for. As for Sony's future, are you seriously telling me it's "bright"? Is a future where they're doing retarded business decisions such as PSNow and that stupid Walkie device for $2k and losing BILLIONS of dollars yearly in the process a good future? Really?

What I see is a lot of casual gamers being excited only because the mass is excited. Oh, trust me. Had this been a Nintendo article, nobody would have given a single sh*t about what I have written. As for the Wii U games I'm excited for, here's the list:

Xenoblade Chronicles X - probably my MOST anticipated title for next year.
Zelda U - my second most anticipated title for next year.
StarFox - not really that anticipated, but I'm sure many will enjoy it and so will I.
Splatoon - actually really hype.
Devil's Third - definitely a lot of potential.
Yoshi's Woolly World - looks a lot better than LBP3.
Mario Maker - again, looks a lot better than LBP3....and a few others.

So, whilst not a big list, it's definitely, at least to me, a lot more exciting than the SMALLER big-name line-up for the PS4.

That is one fat list no question and I can't see Xbox getting to close to it as far as pure numbers go, however I don't see a great amount as far as quality goes. Sure N,D will do a great job of uncharted and blood bourn looks cool, but what else is there to get exited about? Seems like allot of smaller games and obscure Japanese stuff to me.

When Windows 10 launches and threshold is available to bridge the games on Windows Phones, Windows Tablets and the PC over to the XB1, do they count?

70 games? There are thousands of games available on PC, Windows Phones and Surface. Suddenly they aren't going to count towards list wars?

On that listwar.com site, they listed Mahjong. If you go to the MS Store on Windows 8 devices, you'll see a dozen versions of Mahjong. Do they all count?

Same goes for Chess, Word Games, Puzzle Games, Crossword Games..etc.

There will be 1000 games a year available for every device. My question again is, do they count.

I'm all for giving games equal say in an argument, but with Threshold and Windows 10 coming, I'm curious what's going to happen to these lists.

Out of genuine interest, does Threshold automatically make these "thousands of games" automatically play on Xbone? Do developers need not spend resources on coding these games to match the console architecture?

If not, why would developers go back to port thousands of old games, when they are much more productive in bringing out NEW games based on NEW ideas to creatively grow as studios? What makes you think that even MS could gather the resources it would take to port thousands of old games to new hardware? Do you know how many dev teams that would take?

In regards to new games, then YES of course they will count. As of now, PS4 has an unprecedented amount of diversity and content in 2015. We will see how things pan out for both platforms as of 2016. But I hope Xbox fanboys will begin to mock their own platform if that happens since they are so against having "too many games" on the store and actively support Phil Spencer's pointless parity clause. We will see just how far the double standards will bend.

Yes, they essentially automatically play on XB1. All future devices of MS will run DX12, which is why DX12 is compatible with current level GPUs, APUs and SOCs.

From the reports so far, smaller games take a couple days to port from PC to XB1. Larger games, the time table is unknown, but that's not really what Threshold is designed for.

Apps built for all devices could also run on XB1 without the need to waste resources. XB1 will be running a stripped down version of Windows 10, so they're getting rid of the 3 OS approach they currently have.

Apps and Games that are currently on the store will be updated to Windows 10. It's no different than iOS or Android. When a new iPhone or Galaxy comes out, developers have to update their game for newer devices, but also newer software.

iOS 6 or 7 need updates as well and developers have to make sure their games or apps are compatible. Same thing with all the Android updates. Jellybean, Ice Cream..etc all need updates to run.

So it's not about wasting resources on MS's behalf to get the games up and running. Developers are going to want their stuff running on every device in the future, so they'll bring it over.

And I agree with you totally about how the goalposts will shift. Right now, PS4 fanboys are counting every game on the platform and using that listwar site as ammunition. Xbox fanboys are DEFINITELY going to start throwing that site around, once Threshold arrives.

It's different though. Xbox fanboys eat crow in the whole, "indies are games" argument. But PS4 fanboys will be dealing with list after list, then having to use the same garbage excuse that Xbox guys use now about indies.

These are all high profile games the lot of which have shared generous amounts of time demoing live on stage at the biggest premiere gaming events. I'm not into every one of these games, but I recognize the following they have, and I'm not some bitter little pube belittling their influence.

Indies are 90% crapola. Usually college kid projects with playability. Many are trash. Just sift through the 2000 Indies available now on PS3 and 360. Trash. Either it's trash or stuff that could barely get accepted as a Sega Genesis game. There are a few good ones but Indies are the equivalent to the Atari 2600. I bunch of mediocre software that will need destroyed before another crash. 1983 all over again. People will eventually get tired of all the fluff and stop buying.

So many Indie games, I started to get a headache. I do like some Indies, but Jesus Sony, you have to weed out the weak ones at least. Where the hell is Rime, HellDivers and No Man's Sky? The 3 must have Indies that were shown at last years E3. Besides Resogun, it was these 3 Indie games I wanted the most for 2014 and none of them are on my PS4 yet. Now weeding through some of the Indie crap for 2015 in these 70 game list, I see games like OlliOlli 2, Dragon Fin Soup, God Eater 2, Hot Line Miami 2, Toren. Drifter, Fat Princess Adventures & Magicka 2, which all look interesting. Will these games actually get released in 2015, that's a big question. Sony loves to list lots of games, but many of them will get delayed for months, even years before they are finally released. We can't really comment on the competition games, because unlike Sony, they haven't announced many of their games yet. We only know that we'll be getting at least 28 exclusives/new IP's for 2015. Some of them like Quantum Break, Fable Legends, Halo 5, Crackdown 3, Scream Ride, etc.. have already been announced. What else will we see from M$ for the XB1? Phil said there are so many games, that they may push some into early 2016, so we'll see.

I know what was on the list. A lot of these won't make it out in 2015 though. Seriously, there are 1st party, 3rd party and many Indie games that were shown at the 2013 E3 that still haven't been released yet and it's now 2015. Where is Deep Down, No Man's Sky, Helldivers and Rime? they were shown in 2013 for 2014. The same thing is going to happen to many of those games on that list of 70. They won't be released until 2016. People can disagree if they want, but I've already given you proof. The same thing will happen with some XBox One games as well. That's just the way it goes.
