New-Gen GTA V Blow Out on its Way

If you're interested in the new-gen re-release of Grand Theft Auto V, you'll want to keep your eyes peeled over the next week or so. The next issue of the Official PlayStation Magazine in the UK will have a 10 page feature dedicated to showcasing some of the brand new features of the uprezzed crime spree outing.

You and I both. Not many US gaming magazines still around, in print form. Game Informer, Xbox and EGM are some of the very few left.

I use to be an annual subscriber to egm magazine back in my younger days, but I would be lying if I said I would happily go back to subscribing too their magazines again cause nothing is more satisfying than seeing a video preview of upcoming games than the former picture previews in mags.
Don't you love the modern times :-) never have wait a whole month for the next issue anymore just to get a small glimpse of the next great game.

@BattleTorn I prefer the print version too, but for some reason, I would get my Game Informer print issue too late, sometimes upto 6 weeks later, so I just gave in and switched to digital.

It's good to see there are still some people who enjoy print publications. I do also, it's enjoyable to just sit down in a chair and read about your hobby without the involvement of technology. Call it reminiscing, or whatever you want… But I love to do it.

I've thought about ordering the UK edition of PlayStation magazine, though it's a bit pricey to get delivered over here. To the tune of I believe, $120 a year. Right now, I get Game Informer, Xbox Magazine and some developer magazines. I don't have an Xbox now, but when I did, I subscribed to the magazine for six years due to a deal I got, only costing four dollars a year. I think I still have four years left.

Hopefully, those print magazines that are still in publication will stick around for a while. As I hate to see it disappear from the face of the earth forever. I understand it's easier to get your information on the Internet, but there are still some things I enjoy in print… This being one of them. I still have almost every EGM from the beginning. Same with a lot of magazines like GamePro. One of my friends has some of the earliest gaming magazines from the 80s, it's always a blast to go read back through. And realize just how far gaming has come. Great stuff!

I prefer print.... But its not looking good..... EGM is no good no more, Game Informer is so so, but Xbox magazine is losing it..... Funny though, mags in UK seem to do much better....

I'm Canadian. When I recently moved in the summer, I decided to subscribe to some cool gamer mags, to celebrate my new mailing address.

Yes... custom playlists are the best. Especially since GTAV had an underwhelming soundtrack compared to Vice City and San Andreas.

Wow I understand it's common practice to read the stuff contained in magazines on the Internet a few days later but to actively encourage the failure of a mainstream gaining business ie games magazines that have been around since I was gaming 25 years+ sure there all going digital but I love my gamesmaster magazine at work, just seen official nintendo UK shut down and now this articles ends with "of course you could always wait until the day after the magazine hits the selves" well that's very nice of em. Luckily things like Nintendo Direct these days save me relying on these gaming websites for my news as at least with the Directs they deal with facts and don't have endless articles about speculation, rumours or all out gaming war with the fanboys... Pass.

I played/owned GTAV for my PS3...same old, same old. Anyway, those expecting a noticeable leap in quality over the last gen version (I feel) are going to be sorely disappointed. Yes, side by side under a microscope differences may be eeked out, but apart from that...

Its a sad state of affairs when a game is 'remasterd' so soon after the original launch. Business is business I guess, even at the expense of us poor gamers.

Did you happen to see the comparison video/screen shots? It is VERY noticeable (much more than I thought it would be), even to someone with limited ability to detect differences. Not to mention they are actually improving the game itself, better physics, more traffic, added wildlife, new activities and likely even more content/features.

I'm the first person to dismiss "remastered" games, movies, music, etc... but this is not a simple remaster.

I've dumped more time into GTA V than just about any other game in the past 5 years, and fully expect to widen that gap when I get this on PC in Jan.

The comparison videos always show big jumps in difference - but then that's their entire point. In my experience the actual differences when you have the game in front of you are negligible. Time will tell but all I was saying was don't be surprised if...

I'm glad I waited, I was pissed they didn't release it on PS4 back then but I was pretty sure it would be on it eventually, if not I'd've just waited for it to be cheap or used. There are some pretty big differences, I can't wait to destroy lots of traffic and see all the animals going nuts.

As good as Rockstar is at making games, maybe it will turn out for the best that they're making all this extra money. It does suck that there's no cheaper upgrade option especially when considering the problems and what was left out. It would've been funny if nobody bought the game for last gen though and demanded for it to be released on PS4 etc, but that would never happen without alien mind control.
