Nick sheds a little light on an all too familiar addiction many of us have, but very few talk about.

The only game streaming services are PS Now, Stadia and GeForce Now.

Wholeheartedly agree with you on this one. That "new" feeling is a massive craving, but then there is the absorbed feeling when you find a really good "hour sink" game. It's much worse coming out of that and not knowing what to do next.
I went through this a bit when I first started with steam sales about 6-7 years ago, doesn't happen to me anymore.
I have a huge backlog myself, but I am constantly chipping away at it. I usually don't buy too many games full price unless I want to show support for developers or it looks to be that good and I want to play it right away.
There are some moments though where I look at my catalog and can't decide what to play and then take a month off from playing anything at all.
All in all, I do love gaming and I relish those games that really do suck me in and keep me thinking about it until I am able to play it again. I think we all can get into an occasional funk and that's ok.
Stop GAME shaming ME! /s
I don't fall into this category really which my friends assume I do with a library of over 500 games on steam. Rarely are they new releases and most were acquired through a bundle. I do have a nice backlog and I guess I'm more prone to buying something new rather than play one of the old games I bought but haven't touched yet, but in the end I slip back into the game I feel most comfortable with at the time.
I will likely never have the time to play half my games, and I am okay with that. No shame felt here.
