jeremyj29133091d ago

That's hilarious and so true. Lol

showtimefolks3091d ago

for me personally the more i see the less interested i become. this game had so much hype at one point

camel_toad3091d ago (Edited 3091d ago )

Yeh I think Ubisoft's crumbling reputation has put a lot of hurt on people's expectations of their upcoming games. I blame the people pulling the strings over their devs though.

showtimefolks3091d ago

If by people you mean executives at ubi than yes. Gamers aren't telling the division devs anything

It's just the mire they say the more it feels generix

camel_toad3091d ago

@showtimefolks

Yep I mean the execs. The gamers just foot the bill.

_-EDMIX-_3091d ago

You mean the more information they give you, the more you realize what the product isn't?

Isn't that a good thing? Would you had rather they showed very little only to have you buy it for something its not?

Honestly, I can't say its a bad thing they are doing this. They need to air out what this game is and isn't. The industry needs this transparency as I can't advocate marketing a game based on um "hype" vs actually what the game really is.

showtimefolks3091d ago

actually UBI has this trend going on where they show you something very interesting at reveal for hype

than the game is 3 years away from release

throughout that time the more they show the more gamers realize how they over promised or sometimes showed a game running on high end pc and said it was running on ps4

the division gameplay looks generic(personally)

_-EDMIX-_3090d ago

"trend"? Are you sure that isn't due to them working on those titles on PC's prior to official PS4 and XONE dev kits?

I'm sorry but I think your exaggerating the graphical difference and if you even want that, your free to just buy the PC version.

Star War 1313 was doing the same thing ,they were running on PC on specs to what they where told PS4 and XONE would be around.

The reality is, what they are showing is already confirmed to be near the final thing if not the final will likely look better as lots of this footage is alpha.

Mind you...again...just play the beta to make your choice or watch the footage to make your choice.

You can't just cry about "hype" yet complain when they are being transparent with what is actually is.

So continue to fool you? Keep showing PC footage? I mean...I can't just fault them for footage 3 years ago or so that I can actually just have on a maxed out PC version if I felt just.

Mind you, your actually only saying this about the graphics of the game, are you actually playing it? If the gameplay looks "generic" then what can I say lol, its clear what they've shown thus far isn't enough for you.

How is that bad though? Would you have rather known this after you bought it and were fooled?

I'm sorry but no harm is actually being done here. They are telling you what it currently is, showing you what it currently looks like and letting you play it for yourself.

I don't even get the propose of getting upset over what they showed 2 years ago as the concept is intact and its not some night and day either.

https://www.youtube.com/wat...

and

https://www.youtube.com/wat...

What your actually saying is your willing to buy off of exact looks rather then what the game actually is ,even though you likely can run it better then what it looked like in 2013 on a maxed out PC.

Lots of 3rd parties have target renders based on new platforms coming up, Ubisoft was just unlikely having a bunch of new engines were EA had Frostbite 3, being so scalable it made it easy to adjust to PS4 and XONE's specs when they released.

I have no issue so long as what its being marketed as before release, is exactly what is being shown.

That is like getting mad at Gearbox based on how Borderlands was FIRST shown vs what was shown before release.

https://www.youtube.com/wat...

They didn't deceptively keep showing you this RIGHT up until release, neither is Ubisoft or even CDPR, the are showing and marketing what its going to be before it comes out, if changes happened, they are telling you and I see no reason to cry about transparency as its sorta sounding like you want to ignorantly live in the um "hype" idea of it.

This is a good thing bud, not a bad. They saved you some money as you now know this isn't what you assumed it was. No harm in that, even slightly.

OB1Biker3091d ago

Yea I was really very hyped for it last year but when they showed the gameplay where a traitor is in your team being part of the game that killed it completely for me. I hope people who play it will enjoy it though.

bananaboats3091d ago

I cannot wait for this game already. Dying to get into the beta next month. Looks like it will be a lot of fun

KiwiViper853091d ago

Agree, If there was ever a beta to get into, its this one.

mogwaii3091d ago

I am in absolute agreement with the OP 👌

shinoff2183400d ago

I hate when I see single player games and see people begging for multi-player. Jeez guys it don't need to be on every game. Latest one I seen was atomic heart.

-Foxtrot400d ago

Multiplayer or even co-op

If it was always a single player game then that's how it is

Inverno400d ago

It's a trend that never really went away. For me multiplayer in a primarily SP focused game was an excuse for DLC. Then there's the mentality gamers had that adding multiplayer makes a game worth the price, otherwise it should be half price for half a game. A way of thinking devs reassured when they started adding multiplayer to their sequels. We see the same with multiplayer focused games getting SP in their sequels.

Flawlessmic400d ago

Tbh multilayer now is a way to add live service and mtx elements, very rarely does it come of well.

What single players game used to be in a lot of cases now require 3 other people for keeping to really enjoy it and I hate having to rely on others to get the maximum from a game.

Sp should be sp, if devs want to add a separate multi mode then that's fine with me, the legends addition to ghost of tshushima was fricking sick but totally separate to the main game. Sick of co op too.

Hofstaderman400d ago

I remember when certain single player games had them as included optional modes that was played on the couch. Had brilliant times with Syphon Filter and Golden Eye. Me and my bro used to used to fight over who would play as Gabe even though it was technically just a skin. Good times.

Dagexon400d ago

I didn't notice your comment before I added mine.
But good times indeed
