Slightly Mad Studios recently launched Project CARS on next-gen consoles and PC to positive reviews and encouraging sales. A truly unique racing title, it was crowdfunded by the community in a process which pre-dated the now-popular Kickstarter approach.
The inside of what appears to be an Audi GT3 car at Brazilian circuit Autódromo José Carlos Pace has been shared, providing the first in-game look at the upcoming GTR Revival driving game.
This video explains why we think Electronic Arts didn't see a future in the sim racing title Project CARS and promptly cancelled the fourth instalment.
After the last installment I’d say most hardcore fans left. It’s just not that good anymore so I can’t really blame EA this time.
Ask Bullfrog or Black Box or Tiburon or Studio 33 or Criterion or any of the previously acquired developers who made racing games as competition, or as developers of EA games, then eventually dissolved into oblivion or reassigned. Just ask them. They'll tell you why.
Ian Bell, the founder of Slightly Mad Studios, is aiming to hire former Project CARS employees to work on his upcoming GTR Revival project.
If it's just going to be another sim-cade that doesn't do either one correctly then no thanks.
Project CARS 2 was a step in the right direction but the physics still aren't where they should have been, so what did they do for PC3? Go completely arcade. That killed the franchise.
shame.. I love how suddenly the Wii U was always a "maybe".
If I am not mistaken, this game was originally a PC, PS3, X360 and Wii U game. The PS4 and XB1 only came in afterwards. And the Wii U version was always supposed to be the priority back then since it was the first console announced.
If Nintendo's NX is a 1080p console, then the company could really kick but with third-parties if we're still three generations away from 4K gaming like Naughty Dog's said.
This proves again how far away nintendo is in hardware performance vs the competition.
Next console, let's hope they get similar performance as the other 2.
The Wii U games are still awesome to play, but some of my friends would've bought only a Wii U if other third party games were on it. Most of them bought either a PS4/X1/PC to go alongside the Wii U.
Slightly Mad Studios should have known from the start that the Wii U would have problems running it.
There is no one to blame but Nintendo for this situation. They are the ones who cut the specs/features of the Wii U to a bare minimum, all to accommodate the gimmicky gamepad. There was no way that the Wii U was going to be able to compete, this generation, with the meager specs and features it included.
Only 2gb of RAM (with only 1gb useable for games), weak CPU, weak GPU, no internal HDD (or even a bay for one), the list goes on and on. The console is fine for Nintendo's undemanding, cartoony games, but beyond inadequate for anything remotely demanding.
It's a sad situation for people who only have a Wii U, but those people probably only care about Nintendo's first party games to begin with, so for them it really isn't a big loss. Anyone else who already owns one of two next generation consoles out now can just buy it on one of those.
the people saying that its nintendo fault for weak hardware..
you know that the game was intended to RELEASE ON PS3 360 AND WII-U
